A #TBT to my childhood, Murdo’s War is set on the north coast of Scotland in the village of Strathy - not far from where I was born and bred! Set in 1943, Murdo is a 14 year old who finds himself up against German soliders smuggling themselves and guns into Britain. It was a favourite as a kid and it’s a favourite still

Brilliantly written. About 2nd world war. Germans in Scotland. A 14 year old boy gets in the middle of a german operation to infiltrate britain. Survival, coming of age, not too explicit, wraps up nicely in the end. A late tween boy read maybe?
