The Perfect...Wife?Tony Sinclair is looking for a sweet, Southern Hower of femininity to raise their 3.5 children in the "Leave It To Beaver" life he never had. So why is he so captivated by Jazz Taylor, a bold, sassy special effects artist who whips up movie creatures, not cookies? And stubborn! He's never met a woman who was so set on refusing police protection. If he can just keep her out of trouble long enough, maybe they'll have a chance to see where this hotter-than-hot attraction leads.

Jazz has stood on her own two feet since she was young, and she's not looking for a white knight -- even though Tony's testosterone is arranged very nicely and his personal, uh, skills give "Protect and Serve" a whole new meaning...But Jazz has hidden behind smoke and mirrors for so long can she trust her heart that love is no illusion?

Karen Kendall is the author of many disasters and nine romantic comedies. She grew up in Austin, Texas, and credits her early interest in writing to several teachers and her mother, a professor of comparative literature.

A graduate of Smith College, Karen studied the mysteries of modern and contemporary art before enrolling in a masters program in Museum Education, with the aim of teaching children about art. She worked for several museums and galleries before following her lifelong dream and completing a novel.

Karen is still a big fan of children's art, but she now writes full time and lives in Florida with her husband, Don, and attack-cat Boo, who turns up her nose at chicken and fish but adores asparagus and mint-chocolate-chip ice cream.

This is one of the very first romance novels that I ever read! And re-reading it now was just as fun - especially during Chicago's Snowpacalypse! The whole city is pretty much shut down, and reading this in the morning was just a great way to celebrate! This is a cute read, rather exciting and easy to cast this is as a rom com in your own head (I would love to see Michael Caine play the role of Myles!). Such a cute and fun romance!

This review is just me recounting the events of what happened in the book so I can I remember what I've read.

I suggest not reading this if you don't want to know all the details I'm recounting.

Ugh, it's not looking good for this one either - were starter w/an officer, you know what happens when it's a uniform romance.

Oh man, no, just no - so many levels no! Really, her dad's a con man/burglar/criminal ! Ugh & disguising the moron as your female assistant so he's not taken away -

Tony Sinclair, cop, after myles, jazz's (fx makeup artist) dad cause he's engaged to his grandmother Ellen who raised him. Apparently, he background cks everyone of Ellen's bfs.

Okay, well some this up pretty quick. Myles is in a holding cell, jazz is looking for the guys who want to kill her dad/clear his name from the museum heist that went wrong (when really he knew about it, but technically didn't burglar anything, even though he was going to get soemthing out of it, but apparently in this land, that makes you innocent, but whatever), then we go Ellen (Tony's grandmother still engaged to miles & trying to get him out), we got Tony trying to do his job, but keeps catching jazz in the middle of things by trying to doing his job instead, which has him compleltey worried that she going to get hurt (shocker)

Apparently they were "toking it up" in a municipality building....awkward...

Sal cantini, turkey boy, pug, bones (all bad dudes) & she decided to follow them to their hideout because apparently she's the next Nancy drew w/fx makeup.

Apparently myles was hired on as a consultant for the heist at the museum but nothing more (which still makes hik guilty- ugh!)

Sneller & bagel are cops...

Mccgraw, myles cellmate...

Tony prposes to jazz, jazz declines, Ellen propese to myles while in jail, myeles accepts, on the bases thay he gets an expensive suit (sarcasm...ish) -

They eventually discuss getting married bit it's after myles & Ellen getting married. - hea (oh yeah, Sal cantini eventually got arrested - hip, hip, horay)

To catch a kiss is a very light but highly enjoyable romantic comedy.
The timeline of the main story is really short, as most of it occurs within one week.
The hero, Tony, is yummy, despite his having some boring expectations of his expectations for a wife and family life and having given a name to his penis. He's a living calculator, as being able to always keep track of how long it's been since he last smocked a cigarette. Lastly he's also got a wry sense of humour and a strong protective streak.
Jazz, the heroine, is the daughter of her former convict, more or less rehabilitated art-thief, for whom she's in fact responsible and providing for. Her job involves creating visual effects props for movies or theaters. For once, I thought the artist's creativity was not overrated and could be perceived from most of her actions and ideas. She's not wiling to have any relationships and also has a very wry sense of humour.
The investigation is quite basic, though involves a few funny situations. The dialogues are overall very good. Not all of it is fully believable, though nothing is obviously false or stupid - just a bit of exaggeration everywhere.
However I smiled a lot from page 1 till the last while reading this book, which definitely makes it worth 4 stars.

Jazz Taylor faces monsters every day in her special effects studio. But can she face Atlanta cop Tony Sinclair while proving her father's innocence. Not an easy thing to prove when your father is renowned art thief known as The Master. As Jazz works to prove her father's innocence, Tony works to keep Jazz safe. Could this unconventional woman be the perfect wife?

To Catch a Kiss is a great summer read. Kendall has created great characters: the independent and feisty Jazz; the conservative romantic Tony; and the delectable Myles. Bagel, Donovan, Pedro, and a cast of others add to Kendall’s story where parents and children grow up.

Jazz works as a special effects artist. Tony is a cop. Atlanta, GA = setting. Myles, her dad, is quite the dandy/drain-on-her-$ ex-con art thief.
Some funny scenes.
