Seems a good book. I listened to the audiobook version and it sounds there was good information and exercises to do throughout the book. I don't know and can't be for certain as I skimmed through the audio knowing I'd be better personally to be able to go through a physical copy for all the information and exercises to go through as you read. So I do plan to possibly buy a copy!
Though it is aimed squarely at women, with the use of gendered language and female-led company examples throughout.
Bit of a rough start with an opening chapter sounding to focus heavily on the whole "believe you can do it and it will come to you" airy-fairy advice mentality, whilst also trying to cover it's own back by saying it's not that kind of book.

* Audiobook Review*
I feel bad given this book only 3 stars, because I genuinely think that this is partly down to me experience of the audio, rather than the physical, book. It bulks at the edges with information, advice and tasks, alongside further reading or websites -all of which are lost in an audiobook.
All that being said, Ogabi is clearly an incredible woman and I admire all that she has achieved and continues to achieve. Additionally, I loved the people she chose to showcase in her case studies, influences and interviews; it's refreshing to see a book about business which doesn't reference Steve Jobs on every other page. That helped make my aspirations so much more real for me.
It wasn't the most suited read for my plans, but there is a lot that I will take from Ogabi's ethos, and the lessons she has learnt.

June 12, 2024It's not obvious from the cover or the summary (at the library I borrowed it from), but this book is aimed entirely at female founders. Nothing wrong with that but not for me as I'm not going to own my femininity or tell my girls how great they are (both examples from early in the book).
