The Stranger
It begins with murder. In Sao Paulo, Brazil, an assassin shoots a powerful businessman. The assassin is then later murdered, setting into motion an international manhunt drenched in blood.Chief Investigator of Interpol Peter Reeger becomes involved, and the case quickly turns personal. The killer taunts Peter, adding to the extreme weight of emotional baggage he already carries. Now tangled in the hunt for this madman are mercenaries, hired hit men, and crime syndicates.Within the chaos, two specific men remain drawn together—one a tortured Interpol hero and the other a psychotic, cannibalistic murderer. Close to drowning in terror, Peter must claw his way out of his own nightmare to end the ritual killings of a man who strives to pull Peter into the abyss.

I really wanted to like this book. It had all the makings of a great story, but it fell short. Weak character development leaves one feeling like the book started in the middle of a story, but never took you back into the timeline to learn what got the characters to the point in the story they were now. Unrealistic "love" story that served no purpose in the story and grossly under developed. I found the book significantly lacking in necessary details.

February 21, 2021I really enjoyed this book. I love the twists and turns, also the fact I could not solve it ahead of time. I liked the main character Peter Reeger very much. I could add more, but I don't want to spoil it for the next reader. It is a must read.
