When Gideon Biddle discovers that he has the power to walk through shadows into a parallel world called the Midlands, he finds himself lost in a strange world where magic still exists, people race dragons, and where being human is against the law. Pursued by the MRA (Middling Relations Agency) on Earth for being a traitor and a spy and wanted for murder and intent to cause war in the Midlands, Gideon is befriended by a dragon rider, Emily Teague, and a Renegade Wizard, Griffin Nightshadow. Together this unlikely trio must race to find the Sword of Rosinell before the dragons of the Midlands can destroy the rift separating the two worlds. A quest to not only save the Midlands but his own world as well. Gideon Biddle: Shadowwalk is a true hero's story where greatness is not born but is chosen.

This book was very good. I was able to read it in a very short amount of time. The chapters are short which entices you to read "just one more" several times before puting it down to do something productive like housework or ending a lunch break.
Gideon Biddle can reach through shadows and grab things out of other shadows. He can also walk into shadows and come out in other places. He has to work with a couple of friends from the Midlands to stop the High Council (one person) from separating the Midlands from the Commonlands (our world). If the High Council succeeds then both worlds will be destroyed.
This is one of the most excellent books I have ever read. It really holds your interest and has an exciting story. I definitely recommend it to anyone!
Here is an excellent book. Well written and a good sense of how much suspense to use and also the suspense of a good murder mystery. I hope we see of this author she is very good.
A very cute book. I think elementary and middle school students would enjoy it. I found it a cross between Harry Potter, How to Train your Dragon, and Avatar.
