Don't Look Back In Anger: Growing Up With Oasis

Rate this book
Chris Hutton is to Oasis what Pete Best was to the Beatles - the one who was ousted from the band just before they achieved fame and glory. Now he tells the whole story of Oasis, frank and revealing, challenging many of the myths that have sprung up.

I read this just after it was published so that's a looong time ago therefore I don't remember it too well but I do remember enjoying it. As far as Oasis goes I've only ever listened to their first 2 albums so I'm not what would be called a huge fan but I like rock biographies and I'm the same age as these guys and I like reading histories of times from my youth. The only things I can remember from 25 years ago was that Hutton says in the book that the name of his and Liam's band was The Rain and they didn't get the name from the Beatles song "Rain". The other thing I can remember is that at the end of the book Hutton bumps into Bonehead at an ATM and Bonehead is withdrawing money. This was after Oasis had sold a lot of albums and Hutton notices Bonehead's bank balance on the screen and he said there was a fair few zeros. He does mention that old Bonehead was in quite a good mood that day ha. You'll have to read the book to learn whether Hutton looks back in anger or not coz frankly I can't remember.
