I enjoyed Artifact more than I thought I would after reading the first couple of chapters. Totally worth staying with it until the end.

This book is very fragmented from the beginning making it somewhat difficult to read. The main character keeps jumping from one storyline to another rapidly making it hard to keep track of what is going on in each one. For the first half of this book it is kind of annoying enough that I wanted to shelve it but I'm glad I kept going. The climax of this book was excellent and I completely didn't see it coming. All of the different stories being followed finally made sense and the way the book was written in hindsight was perfect.

Artifact had it all, sic-fi, action adventure, zombies, and totally had a philosophical twist of the difference between purpose and meaning.

Halfway through I had to stop and make sure I was still actually reading the same book. It was awesome and gross and not what I expected.
