## WHY I PICKED IT UP ##
I am thoroughly enjoying my Liu / Takeda side-by-side read of *Monstress* and *Night Eaters*
## WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT ##
Takeda is fantastically talented, I can hardly stand it. The backgrounds, and the light. There's one spread where the light shining across the panels is simply radiant.
Good spooks. Twins being funny. This book risked muddying the waters instead of clearing them by introducing too many terms and titles: the circles have scales, and some of them are wings? But we had a big reveal about Ipo's nature that I loved.
I'm just really liking this book.
## WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT IT ##
Hard pressed to find a nitpick. Liu is very sparing with details about what's actually going on with the family, and about their nature. Which trickles down into the fiction as the parents being very secretive with the kids about what they are. But, it works for now.
## WHO I'D RECOMMEND IT TO ##
This is really shaping up to be a Must Read for any horror / dark humor fans. The story is good. The pacing is slow and deliberate and suspenseful. The art is out of this world. Check it out now!
