What can I say about a book about Beagles? I won't say a lot. We recently saved a 2 year old Blue Beagle from the shelter, and picked up a couple books to learn a lot more about them. I read this one first. It covers all the bases really well. History, How to Choose a Beagle, Caring, Grooming, Training, Health, Vet Visits, and End of Life. It also has a training DVD in the book as well, which we will watch shortly. As I got it off Amazon for about $4 shipped new instead of $20 MSRP, it's a steal.
Decent. I wish there were more training tips. The DVD included was very helpful.
I was disappointed that the majority of the book was devoted to how to decide if you want a beagle. This is the unfortunate issue with most books of this type. I already have a beagle and want to know the best way to deal with his beagle-ness.
It has a lot of information about beagles and the beagle breed, but I was hoping for more specific training information. Apparently no book, even one about beagles, can help me get mine to go inside after a walk.
Didn't technically read all word for word but I browsed around and read quit a bit. I loved the little humor in it, and the writing style was very light and fun. I now just like quoting this book whenever I can when talking about my beagle and why she behaves the way she does.
