"It's OK" Books deal with growing-up issues faced by toddlers and preschoolers. These stories, starring beloved Sesame Street characters, are written with understanding and humor. They offer reassurance to kids and their parents that it's okay to have strong feelings about new experiences.
This will be great for some households, but may not work for others. This approaches babysitting from the standpoint of a child who wants their parents called to come home, and a babysitter who has a bag of entertainment from which they are constantly pulling out fun things to do -- at least one of which Elmo says he doesn't get to do with his Dad.
I would suggest parents preview this story before reading it with their kids.... If you have told babysitters they can't being items into your home, but only want your kids playing your games/music etc (for example), then this story may be more confusing than helpful.
All that being said, when I babysat, I used to take movies I thought the kids would enjoy, sometimes I brought crafts etc. For some, this aspect of the story may be great.
Additionally, while Elmo does want to be babysat again, it takes him a while to get there.
Very cute book, I remember reading it when I was younger and enjoying it very much. I would specifically recommend for ages 1-7 but I think we could all enjoy it

My Review: Munchkin was recently faced with his first non-family/close family friend babysitter. I thought this would be a great book to introduce him to the idea. Elmo has so much fun with his babysitter he soon forgets the need to call mommy and daddy to come home. Munchkin agreed upon reading this story that having a babysitter might be fun instead of scary.
For me, the only thing worse than having to listen to Elmo speak in third person on Sesame Street is having to read Elmo speak in third person. The story is fine, I simply can't stand Elmo. My apologies to all Elmo lovers.
