This provides a very good overview of considerations when beginning language study, especially oversea for ministry purposes. Those who are getting ready to move overseas will benefit from this one.
It was a timely book for me. There were a few particularly helpful insights that gave words to struggles I've had and why I've had them. It's about language learning in general with illustrations about ministry so, even if you're not learning for ministry it would would be helpful. The introduction to her English for Life curriculum was helpful and is something I'll use to help guide my Mongolian language learning as I need a path and it provides one.
Where was this book 20 years ago?? Highly recommended for anyone planning to live cross-culturally & learn the local language(s). Highly practical, includes helpful assessments and planning tools to get started well & stay on track with language learning.
