ESCAPING CELIA is the story of Carly O'Shea, whose long-awaited solo vacation is derailed when her mother, aunt, and wacky cousin Celia invade her seaside cottage. TC is inspired by the sea, and loves to walk and read at the beach. She writes fun fiction in seaside settings ~ GREAT BEACH READS with intrigue, humor and heart.
I liked the characters, from the good girl main character, to the free spirited cousin, to the confused runaway. The Book had some typos, but the story line was good - beginning with the main character just wanting to get away on her own - to her female relatives muscling in, in a funny but realistic way - to the runaway and the walls she put up. I could either see myself or many of my relatives in those characters. It's a good beach read.
I am about 50% of the way, and am giving up. The writing wasn't bad, I just don't care about the characters. They have no substance, and I need substance. Thought it would be a light fun read, but no.
