The People Raising materials provided very helpful and practical insights into raising prayer and financial support for the ministry of my wife and me at Quisqueya Christian School in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. This valuable and worthwhile training helped us see fundraising as ministry and as a means to accomplish God’s kingdom work in the world. We learned insightful fundraising skills that work and we learned how to see fundraising as part of our call to invite others into God’s mission work in the world. I would highly recommend this training to anyone who is raising funds for their ministry. This is helpful instruction for pastors, teachers, church planters, missionaries, stewardship directors, and development directors.
This book was helpful. Great insight into support raising as a missionary. Good theological excursions based on Pauls ministry, as well as the financial support Jesus received. I reviewed this book regularly until I loaned it out and it ended up in Chicago. I think I'll eventually get another copy. I recommend it for anyone raising support. It has great insight, good tips and lots of encouraging stories.
I think this book was useful in learning to do the most difficult of outreach ministry: building a support team. Not just financial supporters, but really getting people involved in the vision God has given you. Good for anyone that has to deal with encouraging others to pray and support God's work where you are.
Just finished this book to help me in my support raising. It's very practical in how to communicate your vision and walks through strategies on pretty much every aspect.
Some of the bits I didn't agree with. I felt like the author's asking approach during a one-on-one was a little on the "pressure cooker" side. If a person says "no," I really can't see myself negotiating with them.
A good, down to earth kind of a book on a difficult topic. Some of the sections seemed a little bit redundant (perhaps because I've been getting a lot of advice from people who also like this book) but all in all a solid read.
This text didn't share anything I didn't already know which was disappointing...on the upside it can be read in the context of encouragement during those difficult support raising seasons
