This book is sure to make dinosaurs more popular than ever! It explores the lives of many of these ancient creatures and explains why there aren't any more dinosaurs-except perhaps modern birds! Plus, with its shared-reading format, the book makes dinosaurs more accessible to younger children. Now, even beginning readers will be able to explain, I read a book about dinosaurs!
My mommy is helping me learn how to read. She likes for me to read most of the pages. This is her new favorite set-up of leveled books. Mommy reads the left page and I read the right page. But sometimes I ask what words on the left page are, and Mommy tells me.
She says it's an "excellent way to read with beginners."
About Dinosaurs is a nonfiction informational picture book published in 2004 about all the different types of dinosaurs. I read this with a fourth grader who was really into dinosaurs and she had a lot of fun reading it and learning about dinosaurs she didn't know before. I'm not sure this book could be beneficial to use in a lesson or read aloud but it has a lot of potential as a book to be recommended to students who are into dinosaurs.
This is a good informational book about dinosaurs that young children can read with a mentor. It has the names of the dinosaurs and how to pronounce them.
