This a good follow-up to Tabloid Star, but very sweet. 3 stars
Nice to see how Josh and Ryan were getting on, and the arrangements that were being made for their wedding in Vermont. I loved Ryan's Great Aunt Edna, she was a real character, and so much more understanding than most of the rest of Ryan's relatives, even though she was 90! Will try and look up Garrett and CJ's story now.

Funny how this short follow up story made me cry, when the book didnt.. But awww..
These 2 guys just went straight to my heart.. You can feel how in love they are and this short story where we get the proposal and wedding.. Yeah well.. This wedding definitely made me all girly and I couldnt help but get all emotional..
A beautiful ending to a great story!

I loved this series and this final book just tied everything up so prettily. This is the perfect extra long epilogue to both the Tabloid Star series as well as on a smaller scale the Love of Sports series.
I fell in love with Josh and Ryan as they overcame the disastrous start to their relationship. I enjoyed the first book in this series immensely, now, getting their wedding, well it's just icing on the cake. I loved catching up with all my old friends and knowing that everyone's getting their happy ending. And well Aunt Edna is fan-ta-bulous! I want to be her when I'm ancient. Feisty and yet still so hip and cool.
Getting to see how Ryan proposed to Josh and how their families came together for such a unique and wonderful New Year's Eve wedding. I just had a warm happy glow in my heart reading this story. Perfect ending for all these characters. :)

Very sweet and heartwarming continuantion to Tabloid Star. I liked to see these guys establishing their HEA and publicly displaying their relationship at last.
And I kind of wondering why accuse this book of being just what's clearly stated it is - a short sequel to Tabloid Star about its characters wedding O.o I mean sure it's if not necessary, than at least recommended to be familliar with the first book to be invested and interested in its sequel. And it sure contains established relationship and not ust, because the characters are together for some time already. Also I think that there isn't nearly enough books about gay marriage, so even if it would've been solely the main theme of this short - it's all good.

You ever get the feeling that you were missing something? I did. Apparently this short story is a follow-up to Tabloid-Star. Josh and Ryan have overcome their obstacles, and are getting married. Yay. There was a lot of telling and not enough showing, not enough description, and the poor decision to flip from present day to flashback with each chapter. I didn't feel connected to the story or the characters, and while Great Aunt Edna and Billy seemed fun, the rest of the characters meant nothing to me. Perhaps I would have liked this better had I read the first one, but as it stands, this piece was a bit disappointing.

This was a little meh for me. There's no story here, we're just along for the ride as the men from Tabloid Star get married. If these were characters I was more invested in, I would have enjoyed this more. With This Ring is probably best read immediately after Tabloid Star.

This was a light, quick read. It features a gay couple getting married on New Year's Eve. The problem is that there really is no problem. There's no source of conflict or tension, so it's just a narration of the wedding events.

'With his Ring' is the short sequel to 'Tabloid Star'. I loved seeing Josh and Ryan again and their wedding was wonderful. The story is sweet and sugar-coated and a beautiful ending to Josh and Ryan's journey.

I loved the characters in Tabloid Star and I'm pretty sure that this is the most romantic sequel I've ever read. Ryan and Josh are totally wonderful.

November 7, 2010A story about a marriage can't be anything else if not sweet and romantic, and as usually, the added spicy is given by the sex, that in a T.A. Chase's book is always a right mix of nice and naughty.
Almost in contraposition on how their story started, trying to avoid public display of affection, Ryan and Josh decide to marry and to do it in plain air. Among the few U.S. states that allow it, they choose Vermont and to end in the best way the most important year of their life, the ceremony will be held at midnight on the New Year Eve.
This type of novella, usually seasonal novella, is always an occasion to group old and new friends in a single book, and so here we meet Garrett and CJ, from High Line, there is also a reference to Garrett’s brother, Kasey and his lover Gram, and also Josh’s friends, Morgan and Vance, made their appearance. The new friends are Ryan’s parents, who support their son in his decision, even if they are alone in the family in doing so other than Ryan’s great aunt, Edna, a former vaudeville dancer of 90 years old.
Probably the most original and nice thing of the novella is the parallel development: in the day of their marriage, while they are waiting the midnight, Ryan and Josh remember the most important step that led to this day, from the night in which Ryan made his proposal to Josh, passing from the various moment when they shared the news with their dear friends and relatives, to that very morning, when Ryan received the unexpected support of the old lady.
There is obviously no drama, but only good feelings and a lot of hope, the hope that this type of stories, now very much fictional, will become so common in the future that people will have the chance to live them and not only dream.

When you open the file it says many more pages, it's not. Not good or bad, just a point. This is the follow-up to Tabloid Star which I enjoyed. Ryan screws up his courage and asks Josh to marry him at his birthday party. They then get married NYE in Connecticut at a ski resort. I liked how it was done in the sense that they are at the resort and talking, then it flashes back to him asking him to marry him. Then some more stuff at the resort and they talk about Ryan's parents accepting him and then it flashes to Josh meeting his parents for the first time. So I kind of liked how it hopped back and forth, I didn't find it annoying but I know some people hate that. Ryan's 90 year old Aunt Edna, the only member of his extended homophobic family to attend was a hoot. Two books I've read with feisty old women to model myself after. She wanted to sit at the table with Garret because she considered him "a nice piece of eye candy". So a little angst free piece about a true HEA.

Read this one because despite my dislike for the second half of the first one, I liked the characters as a couple enough to want to know what happened to them... But it turns out I like this one just as little.
First part was okay, even though there's zero tension because you know right off he's going to accept it before there's the flashback to The Big Question. It's the latter part I'm not sure about - what's with all these people appearing? Who are they? I don't care about all these random characters. Some are new, some aren't, and they're united by my utter indifference to them.
It felt like the first ten pages were about the couple... And the rest was a running commentary about the wedding guests.

What I liked: seeing Josh and Ryan again.
What I didn't like: I've come to the conclusion that this author is not for me. I'm not sure what it is, but the characters and story just don't resonate with me. There is nothing wrong with the story, things don't feel as though they've been forced into unnatural situations for the characters in order to create drama, I just couldn't connect.

January 9, 2011I can't give this one a star rating. I hadn't known before I started it that it was a short sequel, and I think that reading that previous book would have made all that was wrong with this one...better.
This read like a fairytale of how everyone envisions their perfect wedding to go. Rarely do things turn out this perfect.
And I couldn't sink into the characters at all because all of their development had been in the previous book and not repeated here.
I imagine this would have been a nice relaxing read after all the stuff mentioned that had happened in Book 1, but it did nothing for me.
This read like a fairytale of how everyone envisions their perfect wedding to go. Rarely do things turn out this perfect.
And I couldn't sink into the characters at all because all of their development had been in the previous book and not repeated here.

A great follow-up to the first story "Tabloid Star." Both stories are fun, entertaining and sexy!
Garrett and CJ from "High Line" make a another appearance in this book (plus a brief one in "Tabloid Star"), Kasey is briefly mentioned and there is a Morgan & Vance team of bodyguards that show up - it seems like they are an established couple from another book and should have their own story but I can't find it.

I enjoyed reading more Ryan and Josh. It was nice to see how their relationship progressed. There are many secondary characters to enjoy as well. Now I have to go add Garrett and CJ's stories to my shelf as well.

Sweet, cute book... does not stay on a timeline at all.. the thing that bothers me is that Ryan had a "sister that lives right next to my parents" in the first book... but was an only child in this book?!?! WHY?

This is book is an extend epilogue of Tabloid Star. We have the a run over of the wedding, as well as some flash back. Overall it's just a fluffy and sweet gift from the author to the fan of the pairing, and it did quite well as this.

Really loved this story! So nice to see the rest of Josh and Ryan's story. And also a little catch-up with the rest of the friends. Great Aunt Edna is a hoot! I really liked how they each remember the most important days leading up to the wedding! Great follow up to the book.
