Wanted to read this since of the fact that I have picked up several other books from the series that I have enjoyed to some degree or another.
Furry Logic Wild Wisdom follows the same formula as others books in the series in which a brightly colored illustration of an animal(s) is included on the page(s) with some common quips such as "Since men are simple, women have to be complicated to make up for it". For me the sayings in this book weren't as well done as some of the others books thus a few giggles may ensue if you are feeling it but otherwise it was rather a blah read altogether.
The book has a bunch of negative space not taken up by the words or the illustrated animal model but it doesn't take away from the book. Instead it allows colored backgrounds to be used in some areas along with full spread illustrations in others to offset these more average entries. It did feel to me that the book did try to use more two-page spreads to include multiple animals of the same species, which was nice instead of the singular portrayal.
Another aspect that I enjoyed about this book was the fact the illustrator explained as to what inspired her in choosing animals to appear in the book before going into a section that provided the reader with the names of animals portrayed, which seems to be more than normal in her other books. But just as with her other books with a few exceptions most of the names provided are common names of animal species but not sub-species thus the ladybug or chameleon.
All in all it was an okay and quick read that although not the best in humor does give the reader a break for a bit that may be much funnier if read aloud or shared with someone else.
Furry Logic Wild Wisdom is a cute book, with beautiful illustrations and an accompanying quote. I liked the illustrations more than the quotes, but it was something quick to bring a smile to your face, easily readable in a few minutes.
