John Alexander Mackay was a Presbyterian theologian, missionary, and educator. He was President of Princeton Theological Seminary from 1936-1959. He was a strong advocate of the Ecumenical Movement and World Christianity.

The relevance of Mackay's insights hasn't eroded much over the last 50 years.

Still, it's not an especially challenging book. I'm not sure that that should count against it, but there just seems to be something too simple about it.
