Sabrina's got the whiz-kid blues Since Sabrina's days are jam-packed with school, her job at the coffeehouse, and her newspaper internship, it's no surprise that her GPA starts to slip a little. But when Sabrina casts a spell to catch up, it works -- too well. Sabrina becomes the ultimate genius and starts spending time with Grayson, a brilliant and cute new teaching assistant. In the meantime, Sabrina's nearly boring her friends to tears! She won't stop spouting her newfound knowledge. But Sabrina's spell may have gone too far, and she's about to learn -- the hard way -- that genius has its consequences.

Sista översatta boken I den här serien. Otroligt synd då det finns typ 25 mer böcker men antar att böckerna inte sålde i Sverige. I min omtittning av serien har ju nu äntligen sett klart säsong 2 och börjar på säsong 3.
In my own opinion the series went kind of down hill after Sabrina left high school, went to college, etc. This book is based on the later series where she is in college. One of the most noticeable differences is that there is less humor and a lot less magic. Hilda and Zelda are no longer interacting with her a lot and even Salem is kind of a part-time cat now.
This book has basically really, really bad. The basic theme is that Sabrina wants to make sure she get an A in a philosophy exam. She's terribly upset she only got a B+ on the last one (over-achiever, much?) so she uses a spell which, of course, goes wrong.
It seems as if she's become pretty much totally self-centered which would supposedly give her the ability to get a better grade on the exam than the last one. A teacher's assistant becomes part of the story it's obvious that he's up to no good (although she can't detect that herself, for some reason.)
She begins to suffer some physical problems from the effects of the spell and from what Gray is doing. What is going on involves probably the stupidest thing seen in any of the books in the series or the television series.
This leads to her and her aunts going to the Witch's Council to try to solve the problem and that itself leads to an really dumb contest rather than thinking the council thinking through things clearly and doing what is actually right.
It's like this is trying to go back to the worst of the 1950's science fiction movies to find a villain. Neither Hilda nor Zelda seem as capable as they were earlier on, Sabrina seems to be so focused on herself that actual friendship is basically missing and it's almost impossible to feel any interest in her as a person.
I just hope some of the books past this one in the series are better.
Sabrina as more of a 'know-it-all' due to a spell and Sabrina vs. a literal brain. One of the better written Sabrina books, definitely reminded me of the show and early 2000s.
I loved all of the Sabrina tales full of magic. Every story was a different adventure and some new and exciting challenge to overcome. These books made me want to have magical powers too but the ending results were hilarious.
