There’s nothing like rolling into a small town that you’d left after being the plague-ridden dork with every teen-aged affliction that incites ridicule—and getting laid by the sexiest cowboy alive.

That would be 26-year-old Casey Roark, who had no idea that Slade Debolt’s weekly trip into the Cumberland feed store was so anticipated by the female population; the sale of batteries tripled as soon he‘d gone.

Casey, having bloomed and changed, had a goal of just being one of the ”normal“ people, starting her nice, respectable bookstore and café, also had no idea who Slade Debolt was the night she’d finally threw off her repressed virgin cloak and picked him up at a bar.

Now, Slade, who had agreed to the no names, no-next-day-memory, sex, was popping up and teasing, tempting her to peek at what lay underneath that handsome exterior. Something a woman, who by now knew his rep, would need to know. To top that off, the sexy rancher’s shameless streak wasn’t just about getting her into bed again—although, that was on the agenda. No, he wanted her, in every sense of the word. And Casey has to let go of old fears and hang ups from her teen years, if she’s going to take the ride of her life, with a straight from your fantasies guy, who claims he was looking, and has found, the woman of his dreams.

This was s a short, sweet, sensual (sex... but no explicit language), and HYSTERICAL read! Oh and nothing beats a sexy cowboy!
A young girl moving back to her home town, and overcoming her fears of how she was treated as the town geek / pariah. She's worked hard, and is ready to shed her virginal burden. Not that she hasn't had experience or opportunity, but in her limited time off from work, none of her previous guys have inspired a real need/want to do so. The night she rolls back into town she decides enough is enough. She walks into the bar, and manages to proposition the town hottie. She's honest about her virginity, and requests just a great go at it, and no name. Of course he jumps at the opportunity, and blows her mind! Along the way however, she catches him off guard and he finds himself wanting way more than what she's offered. His pursuit to get her, the only woman in town who sees him as more than an object, is funny and beyond sweet. The relationship that develops between them adorable, and not full of angst and hurt and jealousy. He wants her, no one else, and he goes all out to get her to overcome her insecurities about her looks and believe how much he wants to be with her. A great feel good story!

Slade is the hottest thing in town.... a cowboy whose arrival on Saturday afternoon into the downtown area is a show stopping event....

Casey is a previous ugly duckling.... she grew up in this town and was mistreated and bullied but having left several years ago she returns to open her own business and try to undo all the damage done to her ..... however on her arrival she sees the biggest bully in her life on a billboard..she is now running for political office..... Casey heads for the local bar to get a drink and lose the V card.

Slade is stunned when she walks in propositions him with the v card , and no names.... he takes her hand and takes her home.

It is a night to remember, but Casey is guarded she has no faith in him and less in her own worth even now.

Slade however is intrigued, he pops up in different places during the time she is opening her store and still hiding.....

The story is short and sweet and you will fall in love with Slade he is a hot good old boy and Casey is PERFECT for him!

I really , really wanted to like this novella, but the formatting and editing were so difficult to overlook. This is a great book in theory, but so hard to read. For much of the book, I had no idea who was speaking, as two people sometimes shared a paragraph. The writer told a story, and the frantic, speech (from lack of periods) had me wondering for a while if this was the author's intention, to run on sentences to emphasize crazy thoughts running together-- but, nope. Formatting issues & Lack of a good editor are to blame. A darn shame too, as the writer tells a great story (once you've deciphered who's talking). Simple plot. Engaging main characters.
