The story is spread over five books and is about a young boy, Horace Gray, who becomes involved with a local criminal, Brian Fisher. The local criminal expands his activities and is eventually assimilated into an international crime syndicate. Horace vows to kill Fisher. The story describes how Horace becomes involved with the British secret service and how he pursues Fisher to get revenge for some of the atrocities that Fisher has committed.
