Diary of a Chav #3

Too Cool for School: Book 3

Rate this book
Shiraz Bailey Wood has made up her mind. She's leaving Goodmayes, waving goodbye to Mayflower Academy Sixth Form and her part time job at Mr Yolk and moving to London with Carrie Draper. Carrie's got herself a place at Tabitha Tennant's beauty school, so she's sorted. Now all Shiraz has to focus on is getting herself a job. She has a bit of trouble finding the most suitable job mind, nothing seems quite right for a girl of Shiraz's originality and wit...And she has to admit, she's missing her family - even Murphy - something rotten. But Shiraz BW will not give up - she's going to finish what she started, even if she does keep looking out of the crappy flat window to see if there's a Banana Yellow Golf parked up front....

Ridiculous. Absolutely hated it. Didn't even finish it. Poor, poor, poor excuse for a book.

this is the third book in the diary of a chav series and it's really great. After leaving sixth form, Shiraz and her best mate Carrie leave Goodmayes and move to london. Carrie alreasy has a job at butterz beauty school but shiraz finds it really hard to get a job. Meanwhile she's having problems in love when she finds out that Wesley Barrington Bains II has got a new girl: "Sooz the Flooz" but it gets better when she meets Danny from working magic. She has many jobs including a tourguide on the london eye who makes up crazy stories about London's history and a Christmas elf at the house of Hardy store. She does find a good job however, working as an intern who writes a artical about real life, once Carries new posh mate Kitten Montague Jones leaves because Shiraz exposes her in the London paper. Carrie is just being a rude snob to Shiraz so she is very happy when blast from the past Uma Brunton-Fletcher comes to stay for a while with her pet staffy Zues. The next thing shiraz knows another friend from her "Super-Chav Academy" secondary school Sean Burton shows up. It is only then she realises that Danny from Working Magic, who she was crushing on for ages, is actually gay, as he starts going out with Sean! Meanwhile, Carrie is dropped out of the circle when there is a conflict between her and Kitten Montague-Jones, when she discovers that they both have the same boyfriend. So carrie re-enters the real world and she makes up for all the time she has been a shog to shiraz by getting two tickets for Ibiza. Uma and her other friend Kezia are probably coming too so they will probably have a great holiday.

I read the when I was around 10/11 and I thought it was the bees knees. It was funny and not just haha funny, but laugh out loud funny.
Picked it up the other week and read a few pages, and to be honest, it wasnt that great. Maybe my sense of humour has changed, but I did really enjoy the whole series when I was younger.

As a Teen, I actually enjoyed the saga of diary of a chav, reading the antics of Shiraz was quite interesting! Although I did secretly want her to stay with Wesley and not allow dee dee onto the scene! I enjoyed the set out on which Grace Dent set for the story's and I lool forward to reading more of her work!

This is probably my best book by far. It's the first one I read of the series of books but I was hooked in because it was really funny. You don't have to be a chav to understand or like it but I would recommend it to mostly girls.
