Psychic FBI Agent, Dixie Daniels, works with Darq Dillion to capture a serial killer. One strange professor is the key to catching their killer – because he has more in common with the fugitive than Dixie can guess.
Sable Grey resides in the deep south of the United States with her wonderful husband, very spoiled dog, and three crazy cats. She spends her time researching her genealogy, designing cover art, watching movies, and reading.
With favorite authors like Stephen King, Piers Anthony, and Iris Johansen, it's no mystery where the inspiration to write tales of love, adventure, and mystery come from. An avid reader and storyteller at a young age, Sable began writing small stories as a child for her mother. However, it wasn't until she was well in to her twenties that she realized that her calling was sharing her stories with a larger audience than just family members and friends.
Now, Sable is dedicated to her craft and to bringing her readers quality fiction with unforgettable characters. For her, writing a story means writing a story meant to touch the mind, body, heart, and soul.
this was a sweet little short. The plot is fairly interesting: a psychic detective (who is apparently oddly enough out of the supernatural loop) sent to solve a crime in a mysterious podunk college town. The heroine is tough enough for me to respect her and vulnerable enough for me to like her. The hero is likeable enough broody in the sexy way but hes not really developed enough to have much of a personality. There really wasnt enough space for a romantic development but the author tried enough to make me satisfied if not happy. The writing was actually pretty good for a short. So now youre wondering why it only got 3 stars right? Well first off it bothers me that this was touted as erotica. There was one sex scene and while it wasnt bad it was more romance novels version of sexy than erotica. This isnt a bad thing per se but it definitely isnt erotica. The second issue i have sort of follows from that. Usually when i read a short that isnt connected to a larger series im expecting erotica with just a bit of plot to string it together (or try to at least). Basically im prepared for hot nasty sex and a laughable plot. This one tried to go the opposite route almost and it made it flop a bit. This actually has a decent plot and characters and the like but its so rushed that you cant really enjoy them or get a feel for it. oh and a sex scene thrown in because why not. I think it couldve been an easy 4/4.5 star book if she had gone into more detail about the main characters pasts and some buildup in plot tension before a limp finish. alternatively if she had spiced it up and had more sex scenes that probably would have done the trick too. As it was this was an enjoyable and quick read but nothing thatll go on my reread pile
