Sedonia Guillone wanted to be an author since the age of six when she first volunteered in the school library and the librarian had to put a limit on how many times she checked out her favorite books. Then at sixteen, a short story she wrote won honorable mention in a contest by the League of American Pen Women and there was no stopping her. Since then, her first M/M mystery/suspense, His Beautiful Samurai, was nominated for a Gaylactic Spectrum Award and has been required reading in a college gay and lesbian literature course. Her M/M romance, Men of Tokyo: Sudden Bliss won a Rainbow Awards honorable mention in the Conteporary category and her historical romance, Lady of Two Lairds was a finalist for The Romance Studio's Cupid and Psyche Awards and A Passionate Plume Ink Chapter of Romance Writers of America. When she's not writing, she's baking something, talking baby talk to her two cats, Iroh and Zuko and hiking in the woods of Maine with her partner.

If you loved someone, how long would you wait for them before you gave up and moved on? Serge, in 'Valmont's Trinity' by Sedonia Guillone, waited for his lover, Valmont, for almost six centuries while he was held captive by his enemies. Granted, Serge is a vampire and had plenty of time to wait, but even still, I can't fathom such devotion. Now that Valmont is free, there's the matter of rejection to overcome since Valmont had thrown Serge aside to pursue someone else. Their bond as lovers has been weakened, but they are still devoted to each other. Their cure comes in the form of Philippe, a half mortal, half vampire whose mission is to reunite them and he's very persuasive.

Who couldn't love Serge? His loyalty and love for Valmont is unquestionable. He's loved Valmont since he first met him and begged to be changed. That love has not wavered even with Valmont's betrayal. He will do anything for Valmont; he will stay with him forever, but his fear of having his heart broken again prevents him from coming back to Valmont's bed.

Valmont loves Serge and is touched by his devotion. He wants Serge back as his lover, but feels so guilty about rejecting him that he won't ask and understands why Serge is hesitant. Valmont knows he's changed over the centuries, but doesn't know how to show Serge that he's not the same person he was before.

Philippe isn't entirely sure what his mission is when he is sent to help Valmont rebuild his estate, but he knows he's supposed to reunite Valmont and Serge. As he's feeling his way around, he realizes that engaging in sex with both of them puts him in a position of influence and uses it to reintroduce passion into Valmont and Serge's relationship. What he didn't count on is becoming so emotionally involved that he might possibly come between them.

'Valmont's Trinity' is an unusual combination of a historical and a modern setting. Although the mention of castles, battles, and horses evokes images of the Middle Ages, the mention of laptops and cell phones reminded me that the book is actually set in the present. It's a powerful story, blunt and carnal at times, but the devotion of the men makes it wonderfully romantic at the same time. I'd recommend this story to anyone who enjoys historical romance, vampires, immortals, paranormal events, and unbridled passion. Thanks, Sedonia, for an interesting and unique story.
