Livia has been a vampire for so long that she can barely remember what it was like to be human. She knows that her soul mate has been brought into the world when her feelings intensify. Her hungers are easier to feed. She wonders who he is and where she will find him.

Josef is at the end of his rope. He quit his job as a cop so that he could be more effective in protecting the innocent without fighting the red tape. Instead of helping, he has become a killer addicted to the very drug he is trying to get off of the streets. He is on a mission of self-destruction.

When Livia saves Josef from the Syndicate, she discovers that he may be the other half of her soul that she has yearned for. She knows that she must cure Josef of his addiction or he won’t be of any use to her at all. She senses the beast that lurks within him. Josef is the answer to her problems. Livia will try to bring out the beast in her new lover and save her companion’s son from a fate worse than death.

Deep

While I don't like continuations unless I can read the entire story, it was obvious that there is a much deeper plot unfolding. Josef' finding his "roots" is an important element. Very curious to see if the continuation is the end or a new beginning. A very good read!
