When Eustacia Hope is jilted at the altar, her parents decide to save her reputation by sending her to stay with her godmother, Lady Agatha Rayner. Eustacia is warned to stay away from Lady Agatha's brother, the notorious Lord Ashbourne, and his son, Lord Ilam. However, there is a mutual attraction between Ilam and Eustacia.
In this book, the heroine gets jilted (obviously, from the title), and goes somewhere else to live off the shame. It was fun to read, but not anything new. I like this author because I know everything will turn out swimmingly in the end, and it won't be too strenuous to get me there. There are many times I like easy stories like this, because it doesn't demand too much of me as a reader.
