d'Argent Honor #3

Eternal Surrender

Rate this book
Book 3 in the d'Argent Honor series. Lust is in the air in sultry New Orleans, where Alina d'Argent is celebrating the marriage of her cousin and the daughter of widowed businessman Sam Quill. Sam falls quickly under Alina's vampire spell, and but for Alina, Sam's the dominant lover of her fantasies. Yet there seems to be no future for them beyond this short sexual interlude, for they come from worlds too different to be bridged. An evil vampire is determined to destroy Alina. He's already wreaked havoc on her clan, and she can't shirk her responsibilities in a lover's arms, however tempting this may be. Sam is an Alpha male, uninterested in playing consort to a vampire queen, even if he were willing to be turned, which he is not. When her enemy attacks Alina, Sam steps in to save her at the cost of his own life. What he wants doesn't matter now. Alina must change him or he will die. Angry at first, Sam quickly accepts his new existence-as well as Alina's eternal surrender-and embraces a shadow life with his vampire queen. Note: Story contains scenes of same-gender and group sex.

While I haven't read the first two books in this series, I was able to pick this one up and understand what was going on. This is a very fast paced and sexy story about a vampire queen who falls in love with a mortal. But as with all good romance stories, there is a darkness that wishes to have the lovely queen all to itself.
I would like to continue reading this series to see how the story lines of some of the other characters play out.

Stalking the Dark was a great book. My only complaint was how short it seemed. I really loved the thrill that is packed in this book. There is so much romance, love, and adventure that just keeps you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend this book.

Alina, the Queen of the d'Argent clan is in New Orleans celebrating a wedding of one of the clan. With her enemy in hiding after being wounded, she is free to celebrate and relax as well as explore her sexual nature without worry of being killed. When the human father of the bride, Sam, shows up at the wedding, Alina is irresistibly drawn to him and he is drawn to her as well. He doesn't want to be turned, but he is more than willing to join in the pleasure of making love to a vampire. They are both falling in love, but the situation is impossible.

I have to say I love all of Ann Jacobs books, and this one no different. Stalking the Dark is book 3 in the D'Argent family series of books.
The series is concerned with capture and killing of a vampire serial killer.
Louis Reynard, a renegade who was rejected by Alina the vampire queen.
In anger at the rejection, he has left a trail of dead lookalikes across Europe and America.
In book 2 Shadowing the Beast, Stefan D'Argent meets his life mate Julie Quill.
All the family has arrived in New Orleans for the wedding.
Alina and Sam Quill, Julie's widowed father have become attracted to each other.
After the wedding Alina decides to spend with Sam and get to know him better in and out of bed.
I really enjoyed this couple, for once we have an older man, and an even older woman.
In other words a mature couple who have really fallen for each other.
Sam is really dominate kind of man who won't bow down to anyone.
It's that trait that has made Alina fall for him. Sam has fallen hard for Alina, but doesn't
want to become a vampire. So they decide to enjoy what time they have together.
This quite a short book, but plenty of action in and out the bedroom.
I would have say this book has a lot more sex, than the previous books from the series.
Now I can't wait to get stuck into book 4
I happily give this Book 4 ****

Stalking the Dark was a good continuation of this series. Overall, it was consistent with the previous stories. Note: while this book focuses on new characters, I would still recommend reading the other books in the series first because there are spoilers if you haven't read them already.
It was an interesting story, different from the previous ones in a lot of ways. We finally get to hear Alina's story and discover what the whole fuss is about. This book is also a lot more sexual than previous stories. Sam is dreamy, but he is also the first male Hero in this series.
Unfortunately, Reynard survives again, despite all efforts to the contrary so I am sure we will have future books, and I look forward to continuing the adventure.
Overall, this is yet another book that I would recommend by Ann Jacobs. Each book in this series builds on the previous one and the world that she paints is lovely and gets better with each new story.

Ann Jacobs is new to me but definitely not just got a new stalker. Now this book looks scary but this book here is deceiving, yes there is danger but it's also so steamy that you can literally see it. At first some of the characters were perceived established to the story flow which I later find that if you read from the first book on. Which is not a bad thing but you actually get addicted and so go get the others. Lol like I said not a bad thing. The story is about The Vampire Queen Alina and Sam having to face and overcome all sorts of crazy stuff just to be together... Love was not in the plans, just crazy fun But loved happened. Now they got to work at stay together and staying alive. She has a stalker from the Reynard clan named Wim was will try to take her now when he believes she is weak. Will they win? Will they come out on top together? What of his daughter Julie? Is the stalker gonna stop? Read and find out..

This is the 3rd book in the Hunting the Dark Lord series and they just keep getting better and better. Louis has gone into hiding since he was defeated and serious injury. Now Wim has been sent to keep a eye on things with Alina and her court. Wim is just as bad as Louis and will he be stop before danger becomes serious? At the wedding of Stefan and Julie, the Queen starts to become closer to Julie father Sam. Will Alina finally be able to find her happiness or will it be cut short? The characters you will follow in love with some and hate others. Highly recommend this book

Received the book for an honest review. I haven't had the pleasure to have read the first two books in their series, but Ms. Jacob made following the storyline fairly simple. Now that the evil vampire Louis Reynard is healing from his battle with the d'Argent clan, Queen Alina is relaxing and enjoying the wedding festivities of Stefan and Julie. Sam, Julie's father is instantly attracted to Alina and never expected to fall in love. In the meantime, those loyal to Reynard keep tabs on Alina and Sam will do whatever he humanly can to keep her safe. Will Alina and Sam find happiness? She is a vampire and the Queen of the d'Argent clan. He is human and vulnerable to all humans woes. Very well written, with a great storyline. There is action, intrigue, romance and a bit of erotica. I will definitely go back and read the other books in the series.

I got this ARC copy for an honest book review and I enjoyed reading it very much and so I gave it 4 stars.

The story continues now with the wedding of Stefan d'Argent and Julie Quill. Vampire Queen Alina can now relax and enjoy the wedding celebration since the sadistic evil Vampire Louis Reynard went into hiding since he is badly wounded. In the meantime one of his member's Wim is keeping an eye on the Queen's activities. Sam is Julie's mortal father and when he and the queen Alina met they never planned on falling in love or neither dying when Wim goes after them and he is just as evil Reynard. Will Alina get her happy ending or not? Will the evil Wim succeed with his evilness? To find out get the book to read and plus it totally has hot erotic sex scenes.

If you like erotic then you will like this 3rd book in the Hunting the Dark Lord series. Even though it was well written, I did not enjoy this book, as the sex totally eclipsed the story. Alina, the vampire queen, is "entertaining" Sam (Julie's mortal farther) when a Raynard vampire attempts to kill them both. I would have liked more of the story, as it has good potential but I found that it was really just one sex scene after another strung together with a bit of story. I received this book from Candid Book Reviews in exchange for an honest review.

This story was a bit better then the others. Sam is a Dom and takes Alaina as his sub even tho she's a vampire clan queen. They have a very quick sensual relationship but Sam is against being a vampire and they decide to have a fling until Fox attacks and try's to kill both Sam and Alaina. Sam becomes a vamp the rituals that follow were a little weird and the family sex was hard to read. Better story and liked HEA which happens in every AJ story.

This is a continuation of book 2. This has the wedding and the others creating havoc. It is a very erotic story so if you don't like that don't read this. Although it is a very well written book and I recommend it. I love vampires. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The next installment of the d'Argent vampire series features the vampire queen Alina, who's secretly a sub to her older mortal lover, Sam Quill. Perversely, I am reminded of Sam Clemens with him.
