I chose this book because the summary on the back seemed very interesting and it made me want to read more about it. This book is about a boy named Liam who suddenly wants to form a band with his friends. His friends approve of the idea, but his parents don't because they had a tragic experience in their past when they were in a band together. Like every child, Liam is curious about what had happened and one day when he goes to buy a used drum set he finds out what had happened to his parents from Welly(One of the band members).my favorite quote from this book is "Would you mind if I had a go?" That is my favorite quote because Liam finally finds the perfect drum set for him and he feels he has a connection with it. I really like the author's writing style and point of view because it is easy to understand and it keeps me entertained throughout the book. I would recommend this book to someone because I think many people can have connections with some parts of the book and because it is very interesting.

I read this a while ago. I forgot I had read it until I looked at my bookshelf and said "WWHHHHHAAAATTT. That was my sh*t!" Lol, it was a surprising read at the time. Because I wouldn't be caught dead reading at the time... But it was a really good story that I would like to read more of!

In the science fiction novel by Jan Page, Liam, who lives in a small poor town, creates a band behind his parents back. This causes tension between Liam and his parents. Liam doesn’t listen to his parents and at a concert he is hit in the head turning him into a ghost wre he discovers his parnents past and attempts to fix it. This book can be confusing if read fast but was a great book and I would recommend you read it if you like time travel, music, mysterious plots and ghosts. This book went far past mt expectations as a reader because reading it at first was really boring but improved a lot throughout the story.

16 year old Liam Condie feels like he's going nowhere. His dad doesn't have a job and spends a lot of time at the local pub while his mom struggles to keep Liam and his dad from fighting. Then one day an idea strikes Liam from out of no where–he and his friends should start their own band. Soon, Salamander, their band, is going to perform in the Battle of the Bands. As Liam is playing the drums during their performance, a terrible accident sends his spirit spinning back through time to witness another band–one that his parents and a friend started when they were teenagers in 1986. He learns that the drummer, his father's best friend, died soon after that, and tries to prevent this tragedy. In doing so he also uncovers secrets about his own past.

This book connects to a lot of different books. It's sci-fi, mystery, humor, realistic fiction, and plenty of other things. Also there's a sidelining little sister character and a lot of other books have one of those. At some point a teenager is probably going to want to start a band.

I really liked this book. I couldn't put it down. The author writes about what happens when a person meddles in their family's past which is something most people can't do well. One downside that kept the book from being a five was the dialogue: It's filled with British slang that makes the book less understandable. So if you know British slang this book is more or less perfect. I would recommend this book to good readers who don't mind a bit of a challenge.

This book was interesting but it was a bit to draggy. It was about a boy named Liam who dies when he was performing in a rock band concert. He lives with his mother, sister and his father. His relationship with his mother was tighter and they got along with each other. But compared to his father, they're not that close. His father doesn't work.
When Liam and his friends establish Salamander, their rock band, Liam had to find drum sets. So he later goes to Weird Welly to see if he had a drum set. He then finds out that Weird Welly knew his mother and father. He told Liam that they use to be in a band. Welly told him that they split after the death of the drummer whose name was also Liam. Knowing more about his parents, he felt pitied them for splitting the band.
So he goes on performing at the Battle of the Bands with his friend's girlfriend drum set. Unfortunately, he was killed by a falling speaker. There he travels back in time and finds out what happened when his parents were his age. He then sees who the drummer really and he dies.


My favorite part was when Liam traveled back in time.

This book was pretty good. I was expecting it to be better, since it was about a drummer getting to watch his parents lives, which is pretty much the ultimate combination to me, but it was so full of typical yucky modern-world stuff like premarital sex, glue-sniffing and skipping school that it was kind of ruined for me to some extent. Interesting, but far from phenomenal.

A clever time travel story told from the perspective of 16-year old drummer rock star wannabe Liam who finds himself going back in time to 1986 and meeting his parents when they were teens. It was a fast-paced read and I thoroughly enjoyed the British humor and locale.

Ahh, one of those books where a teen travels back into time, kind of, and meets his parents when they were teens. Everyone is in a rock band.

I guessed the ending, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

this will work for him for sure, though i found it a bit predictable it clear, short, about a drummer, with enough mystery to pull a reader along.
