Rate this book
At a time when humans and vampires have signed a forced truce, a multiple murder will upset the balance of their world. One human and one vampire hold the key to keeping the peace. The year is 2075, and FBI Special Agent Killian Gray has a job to do. When her federal homicide team, dubbed "The Blood Squad," is called to solve a heinous crime, the case takes them into the dark underworld of the Sangerian Vampire clan. Dacon Sangerian's people have been providing protection for the Sangerian Clan since its formation. Bred from a long line of warriors, Dacon toes the line of the blood clan laws and takes his responsibilities seriously. As Killian and Dacon work to solve a case that could start another war between humans and vampires, they battle with forces of evil that could destroy them both.

I write sensual historical, paranormal, futuristic, contemporary and my signature racing romance novels for Liquid Silver Books, Cerridwen Press and Red Sage Publishing. I love to write strong female characters, lots of action, and hot romance. If you like this, then you're in the right place. Feel free to start clicking and ordering.

I grew up in Washington State, yes I'm a "rain baby." I joined the Air Force when I was young and spent the next five years in the Military. Eventually, I left the Military and made my way into the business world. I was able to join the FBI after 9/11 and serve for over two years as a Special Agent. While with the FBI, I worked on the Violent Crimes Major Offenders squad and the Cyber squad.

Four and a half
Good, futuristic although a little cheesy at times. Now don't let my thoughts put you off because there's a lot to like here. I really liked the effort the author put in to make it feel futuristic which obviously gives it a different feel to so many other vampire books available. I did unfortunately find the glossary of terms that was included a little off putting initially but actually as I read it seemed superfluous so please don't be put off.
The main character is Killian who has a disease that is slowly killing her. If frank I really didn't understand exactly what the disease was but it's a key factor as the plot progresses as big, brooding vampire Dacon makes choices in reaction to Killians plight. Dacon usually has no time for humans but forced to work alongside Killian as bodies of vampires are discovered he realises that someone is set on breaking the truce that exists . Suspense, danger, romance and a shock ending made this an interesting read and I applaud the author for trying something different.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

If you are looking for a book that has a slight JR Ward feel to it this might be the book for you, not as dark but with an intensity I enjoyed. The last I looked it was still free (the cheapskate that I am) so it's worth a go.

This is the first book in the series and is the first I have read by Rae but it won't be the last. I enjoyed this book it flows well and has lots of great characters I was a little corny at times but surprisingly I liked it and think it add to the book. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series

Middling I received this book in return for a review.

It was pretty good, decent plot with danger, violence and a bit of romance. It didn't excite me or have me on the edge of my seat as I read and I wasn't enamoured of the characters, so I couldn't give it more stars. Maybe it will improve as the series continues, we'll have to wait and see.
I like vampire books but I prefer them to have more depth, even humour can be a good thing. Blood Squad is a bit too safe, which some people like, but it's not for me.

I think this book is fantastic! I was a little leery of reading this book at first. I mean how do you combine a future Earth with the supernatural? I tell you what, Rae Monet did a great job of doing this exact thing.I loved the female lead. Strong even with an illness. The guys are hot of course. Lol. I will be buying the next book in this series! I did receive this ebook in exchange for a honest review. I hope I did that. Thank you Rae for this great read!

Possibly the BEST vampire book I've read!

I received this book free in exchange for my honest review. All the best genres mixed into one book! A great action filled read with vampires who actually have gasp feelings! Yes there's romance and a great longstanding feud that's been held at bay by a treaty until some get tired of peace. Trust me it's worth your time and money!
