We had to read this one for class and it was hands down the worst book I read in school. Mainly because all the characters did extremely detestable things to each other and it didn’t hold any literary value whatsoever.

I mean the topic itself is very important and should be discussed in school but the book was just poorly written and the story was unbelievably boring and unrealistic (since it’s supposed to be a book for middle and high school students)

Not very interesting. If I didn't have to read it for school, I would have put it down. Don't recommend to anyone.

UPDATE:

After having read the book a second time, I decided to add a little to my previous review. Overall, the score doesn’t change for me, as it is not really my style of book. However, it was more interesting, now that I have read it again. As I already knew much of the story, I wasn’t as blocked by the language, which definitely made it more enjoyable. I see why people would like this book, as there are some unexpected parts to the story. However, I feel that there is better in this genre, and that although it is a good book for learning German (the language is not too complicated), it is not a book I would go out of my way to read.
