This book would be easier to read if it was organised by types of legends. The Mabinogion tales were badly written and difficult to understand. However, it works for me as an introduction to Welsh folklore.
Bought this because I am Welsh and love learning more about our heritage and folklore. I was pretty disappointed in this, while some of it was indeed interesting it was so badly written and very little detail/context was given to many of the tales.
A collection of short myths/legends about Wales. Some of them are just a couple of lines of notes, others amount to short stories, though none of them are greatly expanded. Not exhaustive, I'd say, but pretty good. Better to dip in and out of than to sit down and just read in one go.
Not the most detailed collection, but the origination by place was very interesting. A good overview, with the original sources included in the last few pages. I enjoyed it.
