Nothing over-the-top about this one, but if you are a beginning coach, then many of the concepts taught in this book will be new and very useful.
There are some really helpful sections with age- and skill-appropriate drills and strategies, as well as good ways to plan out practices and deal with parents (yes, even those parents).
However, the flow of the book is rather odd, because just about half the book is spent teaching the absolute basics of football. That is, of course, important, but I find it difficult to believe that someone with absolutely no knowledge of football would have picked up this book due to an ill-conceived interest in coaching this very sport. Unlikely, and thus this book really could have been about 200 pages shorter.
Good book I’m coaching youth football this fall and this book got my mind back into a football mindset This is very condensed and has motivated me to get the full edition
