Ahahahahaha! This manga is SO adorable and never fails to make me laugh out loud <3

Okay so this comes as no surprise but I love Ichigo Takano's work. Her illustrations are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen and her stories are super cute. I know Shōjo Manga isn't for everyone and some people find the stories quite slow, etc. but to me, I can't get enough of it!! Honestly, it's like a drug!

This second volume continues on from the first with Kameko vainly trying to pursue her unrequited love, Asahi. Miku (the girl who likes the landlord) takes Kameko out for a makeover since they know she wants to impress Asahi, but unfortunately, he is spending time with his unrequited love, Manami. Despite this, there are lots of laugh out loud moments, especially when Fujiwara and Zen are present - gotta love those guys!

On meeting Manami and learning that she really does love Asahi, Kameko decides to take a step back and lets him go as she knows his heart already belongs to another, which is a selfless and pretty mature thing to do so full respect to her.

Elsewhere, Fujiwara gets Zen to admit that he does have feelings for Kameko and endeavours to help him confess his feelings to her. (I'm pretty sure this is going to be YET another case of unrequited love as I'm pretty sure Kameko doesn't feel the same way).

BUT...is it just me or do I detect a bit of chemistry between Kameko and Fujiwara (the landlord). Fujiwara is my favourite male character and during those last few scenes...hmmm...I'm thinking there could be a possible romance. I sure hope so!! :D

Full Review for Volume 1 🐼

A cute and fun second volume of this series ❤︎⁄⁄꒰* ॢꈍ◡ꈍ ॢ꒱.*˚‧
that cover though I would probably like this series much more if there would be an additional meaning to the plot. I mean, I do like the romance and the fun stuff including Taiga but there won't be any fantasy elements or anything else in it, right? And, please don't tell me that we are moving on to a love square leaving the love triangle behind...

Hello! Welcome back!

It's been a little bit since I have read a volume of Dreamin Sun but recently I went over to my bookcase and I was looking around at my unfinished manga series. Dreamin Sun is one I loved reading volume one of but I just have not continued reading yet. I do own volumes 1-4 (I believe, it might be 1-3) but I really enjoyed my experience with the first volume and I have wanted to pick up the other volumes I own and buy the rest of the series at some point. So after looking at my bookcase and making this decision I grabbed volume two and decided it would be my bedtime reading that night. I usually try to read something before bed and I ended up sitting down and devouring this entire volume in one sitting before falling asleep.

SPOILERS AHEAD

Shimana is trying to work up the courage to confess to Asashi how she truly feels but she is failing every time. So Shimana decides it is time for a make over! With the help of the land lord's unrequited love Shimana gets a makeover at the mall and then decides with the help of her friends (and house mates) that she will call Asashi and ask him to come to the mall. Shimana makes the call however, Asashi tells her he is unable to come, because he has something he has to deal with. Shimana does not know this at the time however, later when Asashi does come Shimana learns more Asashi and his feelings.

This volume added a lot to both Shimana and Asashi's stories. I really liked learning more about Asashi and what is going on his life. Additionally, we got to see that Shimana has someone else who has feelings for her and is going through the same thing she is  going with Asashi. Another aspect I enjoy from this manga are the little hidden Corgis through out the story. I can not wait to jump into volume three and see where things go next! (P.S. I think these covers are super cute)!

I’m still waiting for this series to impress me - the art style is great and I know this author can write well from reading Orange but so far this is just cute; not much substance and the characters are pretty whatever

Still cute, still weird and kind of addicting.
Although I understand what forces drive the mc, I still find them annoying, and her too.
Zen is my baby, though and I love him much <3 I also loooooove pandas, so we're basically soulmates.

I loved this volume a lot and I am looking forward to getting to the next one; the art style is beautiful and the story is very funny and cute. The next volume has Zen on the cover yaayyyyy (Zen is my favorite character so far, I adore his obsession with pandas).

It's been awhile since I read this one so the details are a bit hazy, but I do remember being pretty unimpressed. Shimana's love interest is pretty boring - he's a pretty boy who's ~perfect~ but emotionally unavailable. Zen is a bit more interesting, but he's basically just a male tsundere.

I'm honestly creeped out by the landlord and the premise of this is still kind of too weird for me. Most shoujo require some suspension of disbelief and I'm usually okay with that, but this is kind of squicky tbh.

I have a hold on the third volume. I've adopted a "three strikes you're out" method with manga, so if the third volume can't convince me, it'll be getting the boot. It's really too bad - I had high hopes for this series after enjoying Orange so much.

Meh. I don't really know where this storyline is going. I'm glad she's moving on and learning that that's more to life than relationships, but I'm still not in love with this.

''It's fine to be rejected. As long as you give it your all''
It's been a while since I've read volume 1 and I don't remember anything from that volume so I went in kind of confused. The volume follows Shimana, who is dealing with her feelings towards her roomate, Asahi. She's determined to spend time with him and make him notice her, so she decides to go to the mall with her friends and get a makeover. From hair, makeup and clothing, she's determined to change her appereance so Asahi would notice.Of course, things don't go according to plan because Asahi has to go somewhere else and Shimana ends up disappointed. Her landlord Taiga and Zen tried to cheer her up and they are convincing her to go home and wait for Asahi there but she doesn't want to because then, everything will go to waste. Later on, we find out that Asahi went to see his childhood bestfriend who is moving to NY and she's getting married. Of course, this breaks Asahi, who has feelings for her and he thinks she's lying to her. Once he's done he goes to meet the others and Taiga set everything up so he can meet Shimana, but Zen is also there and he's dealing with his personal feelings towards Shimana. They have a great banter and some enemies moments, and it's so funny to see Zen realizing that he's indeed having feelings for his roomate. However, he doesn't know what to do and Taiga is there to help. Shimana listens to a convo between Taiga and Asahi and she finds out that Asahi's crush is in trouble because her family got in a car accident and the victim is the heir of a big New York CEO and they have influence. This guy rejected the money because he wanted the girl to take care of him while he recovers. He refused to have surgery and the money just to take her to NY and Shimana wants to know how she really feels because Asahi gave up already. She's determined to speak to her and asks Asahi and Taiga about her address and she goes there and talks to her. She's been friends with Asahi since they were kids and they were really close. He was always there for her and she doesn't want him to be worried anymore. She doesn't want to make him sad so she decided to stop talking to him and move on. However, the one she loves the most is Asahi and it's always been. Shimana believes that both are too scared of hurting the other so she tries to convince Asahi to go and say good bye to her. Shimana lost her mom and there were a lot of things she wanted to say, and she doesn't want asahi to make the same mistaje. In the end he goes and confess everything to her. He wanted more time with her and he doesn't want her to leave. He will become a lawyer so in the future, if she ever has a problem he would be there to help. Asahi feels great because even if his love is one sided( i'm not sure about that) he's relieved. Shimana decides to confess her feelings as well and Asahi thinks she's really cute and brave for doing what she did. Going to Minama's house without knowing her and getting a makeover and confessing her feelings to him. In the meantime Zen is waiting to see if she got rejected but they end up fighting due to a misunderstanding. Next day, while she's in HS Asahi invites her to lunch and her friends are freaking out and asking all type of questions about him and their relationship. She doesn't want to say a word but she finally invites them over to their house and Asahi is there. Zen is upset and Taiga arrives from work and every girl is admiring him and trying to speak with him because he's wearing a kimono. For some reason, that upsets Shimana who ends up telling them to leave and Taiga wants to know why she reacted that wat. Shimana felt bad because she thought he hated women and thats why he rejected the other girl but he's fine with HS girls because they are kids. She ends up leaving and there's a storm. She can't go back because her pride won't let her and taiga tells zen to go and look after her.
Dreamin sun is such a cute, light hearted and quick read. The characters are funny and adorable and I wish we could explore more of the house dynamic. Also we finally found out that Taiga works as a prosecutor and Asahi's dad is a lawyer. I have to admit that I wish Asahi would have returned Shimana's feelings because they look cute together and Zen is really funny but I don't see the sparkle. Also I feel like she got jealous because the girls were all over taiga and idk how I feel because he's too old and she's still in HS. And so far their relationship gives me siblings vibes and he's really paternal with her so we'll see.

This story is really cute. I love the art and just full of cuteness!

But it had been almost 2 years since I read the first volume and WOWOW I shouldn’t have left such a long time in between because hahahaha I was lost for like the complete beginning of this because I wasn’t acclimated with the characters or what was going on. Which is TOTALLY on me because finding this volume took forever to find and then I just procrastinated getting it and then reading it.

In the end I got back in it after that. But I now realize I shouldn’t leave as much time. I really like the characters in this and everything that’s going on with talking about unrequited love and everything and just you know high school things.

I love the group that lives in this house together and how they’re nothing alike or anything. I like her getting upset at her friends to leave because you can tell she doesn’t want to share this with other people and that’s why she wasn’t telling people about her living there either. I love that since it’s high school shojo manga it has a makeover scene because of a boy like all high school contemporary anything has in general.

Now to order the next volume so I don’t like the same amount of time again. Whoops.

Things picked up a bit in this volume, now that stage has been set. I like everyone's characterization so far. Zen is a little cutie and he might be my fav. I like that Takano isn't going the linear route with romance, as being a teen is about falling in love with lots of people and having your feelings constantly changing. I'm really interested to learn more about the landlord, as he definitely has more going on than meets the eye.

4/5, I'm such a sucker for shojo manga, I just can't help myself.

Dreamin' Sun Vol.2 I enjoyed better than the first one. This one had more story to offer and the characters are getting more development. It was funny and had its sweet and cute moments.

I like how the main character Shimana starts to learn and grow out of the superficial thinking. I thought how superficial it was with appearances and how "society" makes us think that looks are more important than personality. I'm glad that it's steering away from it in this book.

I'm interested to see what is gonna happen in the 3rd volume.

Unrequited love all around ... ouch. What a painful mess.

As much as I generally like the prickly love interest who can't figure out how to express that he'd like to be seen as a love interest, the constant negging makes it difficult for me to root for Zen. And honestly I'm still on the fence about Shimana — I don't feel like I have much of a read on her personality beyond the usual spacey shoujo protagonist quirks.

So much fun! This is the typical funny and cute manga and I'm completely here for it. This volume was wonderful and ended where I just had to start the 3rd volume instantly because I knew what was coming next was going to be hilarious and adorable. If you loved Orange don't go into this expecting that much depth and intense sadness because this is a fun manga that is much more upbeat. If you need that light, easy, and fluffy read this is perfect for you.

Finally, some plot development, but I have to say, the characters are a dramatic bunch. 😂 Zen reminds me of Kyo from Fruits Basket, he's such a tsundere. Shimana gets a makeover in this book to impress Asahi and she gets it free since her "elder sister" is paying! That, is something I wish to have in real life. At the last part where Shimana got mad at Fujiwara though... Girl, it ain't all about you and you're so dense about your own feelings too 😮‍💨

I am just really enjoying this manga series. It's silly and a little overdramatic. But the characters are fun and the story is great so far. I'm looking forward to continuing on and reading more of this series soon!

(Still cute)

I like that miss Takano recognizes that she has a lot of Shojo cliches, and pokes a little fun at it. It's very different from her other works, and a lot less heavy--but I'm enjoying every moment of it. :)
