From the author of the magical Love Spell comes a lighthearted story of music, danger and romance!
When lonely Alex Spherris goes into town she's welcomed for the spinning melodies of her violin. The survivor of an accident that claimed her parents' lives, she's not used to admiration or friendship. The aunt who raised her left her in no doubt of her small value to the world. But on a stormy night like no other she finds herself in the possession of a bell, and try as she might she can't not ring it.
The mesmerizing tone fills her with awe but the fairy long trapped inside, beautiful, tempting and oh-so angry, fills her with a completely different wonder. Having known only loss, love isn't in her plans. But then neither is helping the sensuous Orielle complete a quest that will gain the fairy her freedom.
Take an improbable journey from reality into the world of Nightshade...

A good bit of fun with magic involved. I got this on sale at Bella Books.
There's a lot of fun banter and incredulous disbelief as our MC Alex is thrust into a world of magics, witches, sorcery and fairies! Fairy Orielle is conjured via a magic bell, and the attraction between the two women is palpable from the get go. Only Alex doesn't do love, or actual relationships. She's closed off because of a history of hurt from her parents death, and even her childhood pet, and a cruel aunt.
Can Alex open herself up to magic and love?
I enjoyed meeting all the players, especially the talking dog, and the crazy harpy-witch with her overbearing antics. lol. An amusing read, with some dark and yet touching moments!
Never too old to love fairy tales... Specially if they're a bit dark. I mostly read because it takes my mind off the horrors of my job. This is a cute book that accomplished exactly that. The story is quick paced, fun and easy to read. I laughed quite a bit, and that's always a plus. Some characters are extremely lovable, others you just hate to love, and a few only help fill plot lines, yet they all have great chemistry. Won't comment on style, or anything else, until I write a book of my own. Will comment on what I loved the most: the dog biscuits! Oh! How I wish... I would love to hear my dogs talk amongst themselves. Ha!
A super cute and cozy autumn read! It’s witchy, it’s gay and it’s honestly so sweet!! I’m not usually one for the lovey stories but this was so cute I finished it in a day!! Definitely recommend if you want a nice cozy read! perfect for cuddling up with a fuzzy blanket and a cup of tea!
This one I special-ordered from a used book store at the other end of the galaxy and it took a while to get here. Originally I looked it up because I liked Love Spell by the same author. This one didn't really send me as much as the other one did, but it's a nice story and well worth reading. I have a first edition. (Trivia: Curiously, on the verso of the title page the author's year of birth is given as different than in the other novel...)
