great book!
I gave it 4 stars because I feel like she should never have made up with Chloe. Chloe is such a toxic person and really never brought anything to the friendship but jealousy and mistrust.

At first glance of the title and cover I would have never guessed this would be a second chance romance story. I thought it would be about falling for your best friend’s ex but in a way that this story didn’t actually convey if that makes sense. I thought it would be more on the lines of a person’s best friend breaking up with the boyfriend and then other friend connects with said boyfriend and starts liking them. I didn’t know this whole time Gray and Elle were secretly liking each other and wanted to be with one another but Elle basically let Chloe have him because she wanted her to be happy. This can be conveyed as a misunderstanding too because both Gray and Elle assumed the other didn’t like them and never said anything. I enjoyed reading about the reconnection between Gray and Elle and it was sweet how they both liked each other but didn’t make a move earlier in their lives. However, something was a bit off with this story that rates it just shy of a 5, and instead, another 4.5. I didn’t like Chloe’s character, she was too self absorbed for me and Gray was just desperate to be with Elle that it consumed him. I feel like I was basically reading how much he wants her and regrets not making the moves. He was essentially complaining and whining about it more like an obsessed teenager than grown man. In retrospect, I liked the insight the author provided on how Chloe, Elle and Gray spent their college lives together and the stollen moments in time they conveyed. Unfortunately, there wound up being one too many cheesy moments that would also make this story fall flat. All in all, enjoyable story and characters for the most part but needed an extra push somewhere to garner a 5 for me. I’ll be interested to see how the last book in the series goes, and part of my reasoning for starting this series in the first place.

Growing up as best friends since they were in the 4th grade in Fairview, NY, Chloe Charles and Elle Landon were inseparable. But the friends were not equals in their roles in the friendship. Chloe, a petite blonde with big blue eyes, was a powerhouse whose personality and strong will ruled. Tall and slender with long brown hair filled with natural caramel highlights and deep chocolate brown eye and an only child, Ell was sweet, quiet and giving. So, no one was surprised that strong-willed and self-focused Chloe dominated the relationship. And when the two bffs considered colleges, no one was surprised that the two friends matriculated to Boston College and the friendship continued for the next 4 years.

Both were electrified by each other. But before the two could get beyond the exchange of names, Chloe swept in between the two, quickly beginning a conversation with Grayson Carter, a fellow student in one of her classes, but intentionally or unintentionally, blind to the electricity between her Elle and Gray. And from that point and for the next 2 years of their college experience, Chloe claimed dibs on Gray. But right before graduation, the relationship suddenly blew up when, without explanation, Chloe having begun an affair with another student, on the day of their graduation broke up with Gray.
But fate hasn’t given up on the abbreviated connection of Elle and Gray. Elle, now residing in NYC has applied and been offered a job with C.T. International, a large, successful international commercial real estate firm. And her greatest shock is that the C in the name of her new firm is none other than Gray Carter, the college student whom her best friend had claimed before Elle and Gray had even had a chance to explore the connection between them. Sometimes lighting of love does strike twice.

In the fourth book of the Forbidden Love Series we get to discover Grayson and Elle from their first meeting in college at a frat party to them reconnecting years later. One night Elle is shocked that Gray comes to speak with her at a party her best friend Chloe dragged her to. When Chloe takes dibs on Gray Elle backs off and puts him in the friend zone. Chloe is a selfish friend and is not very caring about anyone but herself and ends up cheating on Gray two years later and blames him five years later. Chloe starts a new job at CT Holdings a real estate company and discovers on the first day Gray owns it. These two have a connection that has lasted 7 years as though no time has passed and it’s beautiful to see how they move into a relationship. Chloe being a greedy friend causes all kinds of problems for them that has Elle learning to stand up for herself and losing those important in her life. This is the fourth book in the Forbidden Love Series but can be read as standalone. Young love and a romantic triangle with lots of angst and drama. Gray and Elle met at a campus party and were attracted to each other. She backed off when her best friend Chloe entered the picture. Two years later Chloe cheats on him and they breakup. Elle finds out that he is one of the owners of the real estate company she just went to work for. What happens when they find themselves in the same office? Is the attraction still there? How does Chloe still remain in the picture. The book was well written and an easy read. The story line keeps your interest. I read a free copy via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

It’s a heartwarming / heartbreaking story, the one between Gray and Ella. For some chapters there I didn’t know who, what or when to kill. I had to take some breaks in reading because I was so annoyed. …hence the missing star…
Mainly it’s a really good and cute story, but there are effectively some lengths in it, which weren’t needed nor wanted. For me. Have the mind please that this is my private opinion ! You might just love it! And if you do so, I am pretty sure it’s because of Grayson. An amazing man! I shouldn’t say this but I really would be tempted to do an (even temporary) exchange with Elle. My husband for hers, lol. Hopefully he doesn’t read this one, lol. So, anyway.

Elle and Chloe are best friends since they were little kids. Now they are going to college together and both meet Grayson while there. Grayson is interested in Elle but she doesn't seem to want him. So, he ends up with Chloe for their time in school. Now years later Elle runs into Grayson and Liam when she goes to interview for a job at their company. Sparks reignite between them and its not long before Grayson is making his move. Will Elle's friend cause problems between them? Can they get their chance to be together?
This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

In this book we meet Elle Landon & Greyson "Grey" Carter. Elle met Grey first when they were all in college but when her best friend told her she wanted him she didn't fight for him. Now that he is her boss she thinks he just might be out of her reach again. Grey has always seen Elle as the one who got away. Though he dated her best friend the one he really wanted was Elle. Now that she is working in his company he is determined to not let her get away again. Can these two find a HEA or will it just be too late for them?
Another amazing hit by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Good romance and good characters
It's a good romance, simple, rather cute, tender and hot at times.
Elle meets again Gray, the young man who attracted her during college but who she had "left" to her more demanding best friend. Now that Elle finds him, she must once again choose between her happiness and her friendship.
The story is a little predictable but I enjoyed seeing Elle's character development against Chloe, while wondering why she waited so long when she didn't even want to answer her when she called in the first lines of the story which already demonstrates her fed up.

This book was so good and I was absolutely enthralled from the beginning until the end and the storyline flowed throughout the book. Elle and Grey have had a connection since college but her best friend made a move on him but when she breaks up with him a few years ago and they find each other again can they deny their feelings again even though it was supposed to be fake ? Now her best friend Chloe is jealous and tries to get revenge but Elle now has her own secret but will it be to late to find her own happiness or will Chloe ruin it? Great story.

I really like Elle’s and Grays story. They go through misunderstandings that keep them away from each other for 7 years but find a way back to each other. What I didn’t like was it seemed Elle was starting to take chances and go for it with Gray. Then one thing happened and not only does she question it but she goes off running and hiding away. It was like all the progress she was making was mute. And she becomes even more dramatic and selfish then her friend Chloe. It was stupid of her to hide herself away pregnant on a lake without anyone knowing where she was, and quitting her job because her feelings were hurt and she was embarrassed.

This is a wonderful well-written emotional love story, Grayson and Elle had an instant connection in college however Elle's best friend, Chloe was determined to have him and since then Gray and Elle became good friends until Chloe dumped him.
Now Elle started a new job and her boss is none other than Grayson himself, he refuses to let Elle get away again and then Chloe sticks her spiteful nose in and causes all sorts of drama. Wonderful entertaining story, both Grayson and Elle are great and really relatable.

My Best Friend's Ex is a good read, a page turner, wonderful characters, great story line and hot. Elle and Chloe are best friends. Elle met Gray one time and you can see the chemistry between them but Chloe wants him too. Two years later after lots of drama, Elle and Gray reconnected and decided its all about them now, Chloe tried to cause another drama but their love prevail after a while and they got their HEA. Great book, lovely characters, page turner and easy to read.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Elle and Gray. They meet in college at a party, but her BFF, Chloe jumps in and says she likes him. So Elle friend zones him. Now seven years later, he's the CEO of a real estate company in NYC and Elle just got a job there. So imagine her surprise when she meets the boss. Gray vows he's not letting her slip thru his fingers this time. What a wild journey they lead. Great HEA in the works.

Chloe completely ruined this for me. Also. Elle never saying anything evenbwhen they had the chance to talk! Or even when she could have bitch-slapped her friend or evenndropped kicked her. Yeah, no. Elle was way too much of a doormat there. Should have at least dropped her after college. Also, the guys behavior was total bull too. Stayed withe th best friend for 2 yrs w/out saying anything. You'd think he'd have some balls not go through with it or at least to hold out for so long as he did.

if i could give this a zero i would. the plot was fast paced and so very cute! the only reason why i gave this a one star bc the female lead forgave her ‘best friend’. that was really annoying bc if ur ‘bff’ cares about you, they wouldn’t go kiss ur lover out of jealous. that’s so dumb, you don’t need forgiveness in order to move on in ur life. being indifferent is okay and you can heal from that way! remember that folks

I've read several books written by Kelly Myers; she has done a great job at writing this fabulous story; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

Obiettivamente pensavo che era un libro da poche stelle, banale e che non mi avrebbe portato da nessuna parte. Invece mi sbagliavo, un libro proprio sul perdono e sulle seconde possibilità, un libro che apre gli occhi sotto molti aspetti.
La storia dei due giovani ragazzi è molto bella da leggere e per nulla piatta.
Un bel libro devo ammettere.
