Return with us now to the thrilling days of yesteryear, when newspapers were edited by drunks and set by Linotype operators who'd spent years sitting too close to the composing room's supply of molten lead. This ancient collection of typos is probably the best ever, even if the Columbia Journalism review wouldn't reprint any of the obscene ones we all know were out there.

"Complaints about NBA referees growing ugly"

"Bishop Defrocks Gay Priest"

"Milk drinkers turn to powder"

"With the exception of victimless crimes...every single crime committed in this nation of ours involves a victim"

"Prostitutes appeal to Pope"

there were some I just didn't get, not sure if it's because this was published 40 years ago or if I'm not so bright!

Pretty funny actually! My favorite one is about the solar system being back in operation...

What's not to love about a collection of typos, bizarre phrasings and accidental word mayhem?

Headlines before Jay Leno did Headlines. I guess journalistic mistakes are always fresh.
