Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.
Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.
He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.
Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.
The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.
He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.
Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.
By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.
This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.
When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.
Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.
Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.
"Assassin's Delight" is "Delightfully Thrilling" In ALL The Ways That Make Tanner, "Tanner"
Once started "Assassin's Delight" cannot be put aside. It is, as my review headline states, a "Thrillingly Delightful" reading experience that I enjoyed.
Yes "Soulless" is back, and as soulless as ever. Truly the villain one loves to hate, and what happens next provides excitement as each page is read.
If you are wondering if this is a "Standalone Read" the answer is definitely no, as there have been 3 previous books in the series featuring "Soulless" vs "Tanner" beginning with #38, and continuing in #43, and #48. Some folks don't seem to like this, myself while I am not particularly fond of "cliff-hangers" I can understand why they can occur, (and it's not always about "selling more books")...Plots evolve, and expand and the tale grows exponentially, thus more books, in order to reach a satisfactory conclusion.
Personally, I highly recommend this book, as well as this author, but I do believe you will enjoy it better if you read the "Tanner" Titles I've included first as quite frankly you will enjoy "Assassin's Delight" much more if you know the FULL Backstory.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review, and I'm hopeful it is of some assistance to you. If so, please mark it helpful, if not, then by all means mark it unhelpful as that will only help me improve.
Yes, I am an Advanced Copy Reader. I received a “free copy” of this book, in exchange for agreeing to provide an “honest” review. No other incentives were offered to influence my review, and I have no financial motive for its success or failure. This review is based solely upon my personal, and subjective enjoyment of the book as it was provided to me.
Once again, I find I'm unable to put another exciting, fast paced action, destruction, murders of epic proportions and a portrayal of a madman of unspeakable acts. When Soulless was thought to be dead finally, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Unbeknownst to many, Tanner included, there were many killing acts like Soulless would do. This Author is amazing and I have read most of his books especially Tanner's stories. Once you start reading, you won't be able to stop until the end. His stories are so captivating you won't want to be disturbed while reading it. They are that good!
Wow!.You are most certainly not going to be expecting all the twist and turns ,that are going to happen. This has got to one of the best out of the Tanner series! The writer takes us on a ride and doesn't let off the gas,not to mention we get on of the best mysteries. The story is woven so well,it brings back to the old Colombo shows when he knows something is nagging him and the light bulb turns on. This was just plain good and it will definitely have your heart pumping!
Having read all of the previous books in the series, I was surprised at the format of this story. Tanner was not as involved as other assassins take up many of the pages. An archenemy is running wild as well, planning Tanner’s demise. Be sure to read RESURRECTION first and get ready for the next installment as the story spans (at least) three books. [But that’s nothing; the Tanner saga is now closing in on fifty books.]
I've always looked 4ward to the next Tanner book - at least I used to until he started ending the book right in the middle of the action. I hate ending on a cliffhanger & then having to wait 4 the next book & then hope I didn't 4get how the last one went. I absolutely hate cliffhanger endings and as much as I've loved Mr. Kane's Tanner books I'm done. What a shame that he felt he had to resort to such a cheap trick. Sigh.
Soulless has infiltrated the lives of Tanner, Sara, Caroline and Crash. With the new face that Soulless wears he is allowed to get close to all those that he wants to destroy and the only ones knowing that he is not who he claims to be is the children. The built and build the end to where it is unbelievably intensely stressful and what an ending can’t wait to start on the next book.
Fast-paced, can't put done, exciting Tanner book. Soulless, another assassin thinks he's better than Tanner and wants to prove it. He has found out who Tanner is, where he lives and who his family is and he's after them all. Tanner doesn't know who Soulless is and is at a big disadvantage. Will Soulless become the #1 assassin? Great story that continues the Tanner series.
Still a readable story but they have devolved into serials with the expected characters but one plot twist per book. Not quite a novella but close. Tanner is still lethal, the kids are still cute, and Caroline is still beautiful. Thank goodness the novels are still on Kindle unlimited.
Wow!! Another great read by Remington Kane. Assassins Delight is number 49 in the Tanner series and ends with No End. The plight to kill Souless continues. If you have never read any of the Tanner series, begin with number one. You will not be disappointed. Bobbie and Dr. C. 😊🎊🎉
Soulless is back from the dead & hiding in plain sight while he plans his revenge on Tanner.
Knowing where Tanner and Henry are is 1/2 of Soulless's problems now he has to solve how kill Tanner & Henry, but he also wants Crash & Caroline for calling him a monster cm
Come on man, you're killing me here!!! Another cliffhanger?!?! Oh, the torture... But I must admit, as annoying as it is, these are some of the best Tanner books in the entire series.
This is a really good series. This is a story about love and goodness. Tanner love for his wife and family and the kindness of an assassin. Look at the good stuff between all the bad.
Short but action, suspense, drama, intrigue and host of other adjectives. A little hanger at the end but still a good read. Need to start at the beginning with boom 1 to better understand the relationships.
This is not a Tanner book. It focuses too much on soulless. I am so over that character I could not read the whole book. I love the Tanner series so my disappointment is exponential!
Wow what a read couldn't put it down was on tender hooks throughout the book .The saga continues in next book .Hope this isn't the last in the series for Tanner .
