This book is about five monsters and how they have to follow the rules at school. I would use this book on the first day of school to introduce my classroom rules. I would “pull” my rules from the book and lay them out for students. Then, I would discuss the classroom rules explicitly with students. I could also use the book to refer back to rules when needed.
This a great book to introduce to children at school so they can remember to follow the classroom rules. It is important that children know the importance of following the rules. This book also has some rhyming words.
This book is good for phonological awareness as well as preparing young children for school. It provides an opportunity to talk about rules and why they are important.
