As seen on Hannity!

The bestselling comedian returns to respond and rant on real questions about life and love, careers and cars, and everything else from fans and famous friends.

Ever wonder what you would say or do if you didn’t give a f**k? Adam Carolla can tell you. In his sixth book, the comedian, podcaster, and provocateur does what he does best—doles out advice and opinions with utter disregard for our politically correct, self-righteous, virtue signaling, woke times.

Thanks to decades of hosting MTV and radio’s Loveline, his Guinness World Record–breaking podcast and touring the stand-up circuit, no one in comedy is as gifted at thinking on their feet. Taking actual questions from his fans—and even some celebrity friends, including Ray Romano, Maria Menounos, and Judd Apatow—Adam dishes out hilarious rants, unpredictable tangents, brilliant inventions, sage advice, and controversial opinions in a way only a self-proclaimed asshole can.

the realities of life

Adam has a wonderful observation of life in today’s crazy world and dispenses good advice with humor. Great read that comes along at the right time in today’s wacky world.

Adam's latest book (Everything Reminds of Me of Something) reminds me of his last book (I'm Your Emotional Support Animal). Both books are filled with Adam's amusing perspectives on today's woke culture and other current topics. It is sometimes humorous and thought-provoking, but mostly just Adam being Adam. If you enjoy his snarky sense of humor on his podcast, standup comedy performances, and TV shows, you will surely enjoy this book too.

For what it's worth, this book is not my favorite from Mr. Carolla... that special honor goes to one of his earlier books entitled Not Taco Bell Material (which has some hilarious stories from his past).

The book is unthemed unlike his previous books so it's more of a Q&A about topics he's knowledgeable about but also plenty of just his opinion. There were funny parts and some good observations for sure. However, I felt like it was overall weak compared to his other books.

It's funny how, when I was a young person, I couldn't stand him but now I find him less offensive. Did I just get less sensitive to things I don't agree with? Did he get less offensive? Not sure, but so much of comedy is censored now, that I don't mind if I don't agree with everything and I find it useful to hear others' point-of-view.

Kind of disappointing. Adam can be funny as hell, but he's jumped on the right wing trope that says woke is our biggest problem right now. He goes out of his way to bash things your typical brainwashed faux nooz listener would have on the top of their tiny brains, but doesn't spend much time bashing the "other side" (which is probably far more worthy of scorn these days). I can ignore it, but it becomes tedious.

I did really enjoy this book. Some good laughs and some good advice.
Adam may not know it, but some of his advice is taught in psychology classes. What's intriguing is what he has figured out with just a high school education.
I found that I did enjoy the Q and A format of the book. I was concerned it was going to come off as lazy, but it didn't for me. It also allowed me to skip questions I was not interested in, like the ones about tools and / or home improvement.
He's very much plugged into the culture and into politics. Perhaps I'm partial to his work because I share the same frustrations over workplace "microaggressions," people who are terrified of COVID, and workplace training. That doesn't NEARRRRRRRRRRLY cover the things that annoy Adam, but you get the drift. He's a bit older than me, but I sometimes get annoyed over the same things.

The only thing (there has to be a thing) is -- he is for sure sexist. Pauly Shore asked if he could still become a father, and Adam was like SURE WHY NOT? But when it comes to women he says we are "old at forty-five." OUCH.

Still. Enjoyable book.

This book is just what I needed. I could not bring myself to read anything lately. Nothing interested me. Everything was either too woke or required too much focus. This was not too serious but incredibly entertaining and I still learned a lot. It is fascinating how Adam has a well thought out opinion and explanation for everything. It makes me question why I don't think more. Maybe I need to quit looking at stuff on my phone while I am on the toilet and pontificate more.

My favorite quote from the book is this. "I have a theory. The more specific shoes you have had in your life, the more meaningful it was. If you had shoes specific to dancing or golf, then you embraced life; military dress shoes, track cleats, even bowling shoes. The more of those specific kinds of shoes you have had, the more fulfilling and meaningful your life has been. You want to go to your grave having a widely varied and well worn shoe collection. How long you live is not the measure of a meaningful life.

Carolla is one of my favorite comedians, as I always enjoyed his dead pan responses to his observations in our society. This is my first Carolla book and from what I gather, this one is unique. The book is mainly his responses to questions submitted to him by his fans, friends and fellow celebrities.

Although many of his responses were entertaining and informative, I feel like there wasn't enough conent here or the format did not necessitate the need for a book. Many of these topics could be relayed through a YT video (i.e., Q&A session). I would still recommend the book for it's entertaing content, but just be aware of it's format as it may not seem worth the price.

Once again Adam Carolla delivered hard facts through humor. I laughed so much through out this book. I definitely recommend getting the audiobook. It wouldn’t be as hilarious if you don’t get to hear him read his book. It’s a whole different experience.

Of course my favorite part is the no nonsense/nothing being held back thoughts. It’s a breath of fresh air. It’s like you were tiptoeing around glass and all of a sudden the glass turned to grass and you start running.

RATING 2.2 STARS

It's not that I don't like this book, but it definitely falls prey to the same fate as all the other "funny" books written by stand-up comedians. Too much is lost between vocal delivery and textual representation and the humor is largely left lacking. I can only take so much of Carolla anyway, so this one grew to be more of a challenge to get through the further I went.

I'm sure it's fine for big time fans of Carolla, but I lost interest along the way.

Look, Adam Carolla is pretty funny, and he's got some sharp observations about political and social issues. I liked the format of this book--listeners to his podcast submitted questions and he responded humorously. But there were also some pretty coarse descriptions and crude language and shockingly inappropriate content. I don't know that I'd recommend this book but I would consider trying out another of Carolla's books to see if the tone improves.

I really like Adam Corolla overall. I think he is funny and very smart, but this book surpassed my expectations. It is a 250 pages FAQ with a lot of sense of humor and hidden wisdom and knowledge. I am not American and was not raise in US, therefore some of the jokes about old tv shows made less sense for me, but the way he writes make these parts funny and interesting anyway.

I picked this one up simply for a reading challenge. Started out listening to the audiobook and then switched to the hard copy where it was much easier to skip parts, he can turn pretty much anything into something inappropriate. Most of the content I could care less about what he thinks, although some mildly funny responses here and there.

Extreme book nerd challenge category: Book of essays.

I got 1/4 of the way thru and had to put this down. I love Adam but this book was just not enjoyable. I hate industry buzzwords so I really hate to use one but the format of this book was just hard to set a cadence to. It being letters to Adam and his responses just didnt interest me enough for a novel length. Dont get me wrong ... I laughed numerous times but just couldnt get into it.

I always like Adam Carolla, and this book was no exception.

I do wish he was less vulgar. I'm not offended... I just don't like it.

Overlooking that, there were some points of slight boredom for me - parts about sports and cars - but there were more instances of me literally laughing out loud. I'm probably a happier person for having listened to this book.

3.5 stars. I didn't like this book as much as Adam Carolla's previous books. It was done in a question-answer format for the most part and some of the questions were very silly (or eye rolling stupid). It was still pretty entertaining.

I wish I could explain why I love him so much, but nothing I write truly conveys my thoughts. Adam just has a way of distilling thoughts and ideas in funny and clever ways unlike anyone else. I love all the throwback examples too. Quick and fun read.

This book almost harkened back to Old Adam and not angry anti-vax Adam.

If I still listened to his podcast I don't think I'd have enjoyed it as much.

My favorite part was the Phil E. Cheesesteak section.

Adam Carolla never fails to deliver. Side-splitting comedy, on point social commentary and hilarious anecdotes. What more could you want from a book? Adam is never politically correct-- nor should he be. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up.

Listened to audio book read by the author. In my opinion, this is the preferred method of digesting Carolla's books. You get to hear the sarcasm and the inuendo. There were several times I had to pause the narrative because I was laughing so hard. It is just that good of a book

It took awhile to get used to the AMA style of this book. I have really enjoyed all of his other books, but this was before I realized we have vastly different political views. This was off-putting at parts, but I did find a good chuckle more than once.

I like Carolla and his rants quite a bit. I just didn't like this book. It's too much of a jumble without a through-line.

Maybe I'm being unfair, since the book is "as advertised." I just found it uneven compared to his other books.
