She wouldn't let him ruin her future
Tina Phillips was a superb dancer and knew it. But she couldn't understand why Max Fielding, the company director, had hired her.

Max made it painfully clear he thought she was promiscuous and heartless. He seemed determined to believe she was a threat to every red-blooded male.

Yet he had no reason to hold her in such contempt -- and as an engaged man, no right to want her with such undisguised desire.

I've yet to rewrite my reviews on the books I've listed b4 goodreads provided a summary. This one is one of my favorites keepers. For me, it was an incredible vintage find. The book is all about the passion, drama and conflict within a dance company. She's of course the principal dancer for the company and he is a head. KC creates this explosive chemistry around them that's pushed to the breaking point.

The dishonesty is frightful. Both of them were awful and it ruined the story for me. She's a prima ballerina, a sensual dancer and thus, must obviously, without question, be a tramp, and all the men who like/court/date/flirt with her must obviously, without question, be her marks. Mr. Bully H says this over and over and over and h is so stupid that when H attacks her for living with an older rich guy she agrees she likes the high life, doesn't say it's her dad. I can sympathize with her on this one, I'd do the same thing if I got mad enough, but she is supposedly in love by this point.

Tina liked dancing which was the reason she worked for Max Fieldings company after she encountered a difficult situation with the directer of the TV show she was working in. Unfortunatelly, that directer didn't leave her alone. He poisoned Max's judgement of her even before they meet! Therefore, Tina was in a fix. She neither wanted to stop dancing nor leave Max - whom she fell in love with - thinking the worst of her!

I gave this book 3 stars for the mere reason that it was not boring. But in truth, it is worthy of only 2 stars because as a romance story, it's unfortunately lacking in more element than one. There is no climex nor real communication between the two main characters and yet they fell in love within a week and after two intense meetings! It seems the heroine has more to say to others than the hero! The ending is also bizzare. It shifts from the characters on top of a boat to bed! The reader is left with so many unanswered questions concerning Max's background and relationships. And as for the love confession, it is simply implausible.
