Possibly the best book I've ever read. Would give it ten stars if I could. Want to scream it from the rooftops. It's exactly what I need, and what I'm sure many others need to hear/Read too.

I love this book with my whole heart.

I don’t usually use Goodreads, I use StoryGraph but I’ve been following Chloë for a long time now and had to make an account to review this after seeing that some people have left 1 star reviews when it’s not long been released, I question whether it was a mistake or jealousy. I don’t understand how you could give such a heartfelt book a one star review, even if it doesn’t resonate with you. The sentiment and genuine empathy behind this book is so special. It just seems spiteful, if you follow her online you’ll know how much love and energy she gives to complete strangers just to help with their mental health. She’s opened up before about how anxious it makes her sharing her work because it’s such a touchy subject, she only does it to help others.

I don’t know this writer personally, or much about her, but I do know that she’s the bravest and most empathetic soul I know. Her writing makes me feel incredibly seen and takes away the shame that I’ve had about my emotions and struggles with mental health. I don’t have a family that validates what I’ve been through, so this book is like a big hug of validation and I reach for it whenever I feel low. I think she may even be a lot younger than me and yet she feels like a big sister. I love that it’s essentially a book of quotes / short pieces of writing so I can keep coming back to it without feeling overwhelmed. I’ve read hundreds of non-fiction books and this is one of my favourites. The whole book is full of bookmarks and highlights. I kind of regret highlighting it because I want to highlight every line. I’m hoping she writes many more because I haven’t come across anything quite like this before.

I don’t know if she looks at things like Goodreads reviews but if she does, I hope she knows how valued she is, as a writer, author and a beautiful soul. I can only hope this book finds the right people, that need it and truly respect and value it because I can’t imagine what it took so publish such vulnerable writing. I can’t imagine how hurtful it would be to write such a book and see people leaving 1 star reviews with no justification.

This is why I hate Goodreads, there are real humans behind these books, trying their best, and you’ll come onto a new independent authors page and spread hate, ironically damaging these writers mental health. Fair enough if it’s a millionaire author that doesn’t care about their audience but these small writers are different.

Ok rant over. If you like her writing online, you’ll love this book. She has so many extracts for free on her social media. If you don’t like those, don’t buy it, simple as.

This book contained so many reminders that I'll reread for a long time. I enjoyed every page and have so many highlights, notes, and markers. Definitely recommend to people healing, growing up, or trying to renew themselves.

This book really made me think about everything and I can recommend it to everyone who is living through a hard time. Sadly I've read this book in the wrong time where I couldn't really feel the texts but I used lots of post-its and will maybe re-read it one day

Trigger Warnings: this book will most likely make you cry

This collection of writing from Chloë Jade contains themes surrounding mental health, healing, childhood trauma, self-compassion, self-discovery, heartbreak, letting go, and relationships. Woven with easy-to-digest gentle reminders and perspective shift prompts, this book will help you acknowledge your past and pain and help you begin to move forward with a better understanding and acceptance.

I was able to get a copy of this for my library so I could read it but this is definitely a book I will purchase my own copy of here in the future that I would grab off the shelf as I need it. There’s some solid reminders you sometimes just need to see as words in front of you in this book.

Shoot, in the first 20 pages of it had me crying a few times.

Some writing didn’t connect with me at all but there were others that though they didn’t scream at me right at the moment I read it, I either felt the connection from my past, or know that it’s something I will probably want in the future.

If you’re like me, who tends to self isolate a lot if something is wrong, sometimes I need a little pick me up without having to say anything; this book is definitely it.
