Dangerous serial killers clash with the Order and Sakamoto’s crew clash! As the battles rage on, Sakamoto undergoes an unexpected transformation. Meanwhile, the evil mastermind X reveals his true intent, which sends shock waves through the assassin world!
This being my first accidental and also only time I’ve ever watched an anime series premiering while reading through the volumes they are currently adapting, and I gotta say it’s so fun and kind of exhilarating. I thought at first I’d be underwhelmed mostly knowing what’s going to happen but in almost an opposite fashion I find myself diving deeper to see how close and still at times apart the two mediums of the same material are. While the show is sincerely in a high regard to me, the manga adaptation just knocks it out in nearly every category. The fluidity of sakamoto is drawn beautifully, the intense violence scenes like the starting assault on the JAA was somehow more impactful and visceral when thoughtfully crafted to the page like it was. This wasn’t even an outstanding story moving or groundbreaking volume either which just shows how fun and entertaining the artists and creators make and work to define in producing this manga series.
Still heavily action focused, it's a fun continuation of what's set up in the previous volume, but it doesn't quite reach the same heights when it comes to the fight scenes. However, it might just be the best cliffhanger as it gets the adrenaline pumping for the most important showdown yet.
A mediocre outing of wall-to-wall fights. First against the last of the death row escapees, and then on to the next stage of X the Slur's master plan. At least next volume promises a final boss confrontation between Sakamoto and Slur. If only I were the slightest bit impressed with Slur and could find it within myself to care . . .
There's a bit of a meme about Sakamoto Days: "People fight." The idea is there's no substance to the manga beyond the simple fact that... well, people fight in it. It'd been a while since I last read this manga, and I didn't realize I was still in the middle of an arc, but... it didn't matter; Sakamoto was fighting Apart, and that's all the info that was required to catch up.
I can't really see myself writing too much about this series in the future, but I'll try to come up with things to say beyond just "People fight." For the volume, I guess the main thing is I think it's funny that Apart is apparently joining Sakamoto and Shin, after he's committed such violence in the past. I guess it's not too different from, say, Hiei or Vegeta becoming heroes, but we've at least seen up close the kinds of brutal shit Apart has gotten up to, whereas the extent of Hiei's nastiness was saved for the near end of his manga, and Vegeta pretty much just explodes people in ways that only end up particularly gory for non-humans.
why are all the characters so fine? i knew from the beginning i would adore nagumo and i was not wrong, this entp psycho clown energy is everything to me. i won’t assume anything about these new villains for now, but there are some thoughts in my head for sure. can’t wait to know what had happened between them and the order in the past.
Just as Sakamoto and his crew recover from their wounds from the previous volume, they’re up against another assassin who plays by his own rules while another will trash his shop. Later the JAA has their own ambush and it has a slicer of a surprise. A (100%/Outstanding)
“When people aren’t willing to expose themselves, they can never really connect.”
This volume kicks off with a jolt—those first two panels genuinely startled me. I had to do a double-take, but in classic Sakamoto Days fashion, things aren't quite what they seem. The tone shifts quickly, and from the start, it delivers that perfect mix of dark humor and sharp action. The early fights feel almost playful—mostly thanks to Nagumo’s chaotic energy—but as the volume progresses, the story gets heavier and more intense. By the final chapter, the lightness is gone, replaced with a darker tone that lands hard.
There’s one particular scene I absolutely loved—not because it was shocking, but because it centered on my favorite character. I know I’m biased, but I couldn’t help grinning. I was giggling like a teen with a crush, even though the scene itself was gritty and full of tension. That’s part of what makes this series so entertaining—it balances high-stakes fights with just enough character charm to keep things fun without losing its edge.
This volume also dives into villain backstory in a way that finally gives weight to the threats building up. We get a better look at the motivations behind the four new villains, and it’s satisfying to see X’s plans start coming together. The pacing, character moments, and shift in tone all worked well to push the story forward. Volume 6 is a strong entry in the series and has me more excited than ever to see what’s next.
Hitungannya, Sakadays ini serinya cepet bgt diterjemahinnya karena tiba-tiba udah sampe vol 7 yg terbaru. Tp kalo diperhatiin fandomnya emang gak serame jjk, aot, kny, atau blue lock sih.
Akhirnya pny juga cover solo nya Nagumo. Cakep sih mana karakternya gak bisa diraba kepribadian nya, tp kemampuan fightingnya sadis. Manifesting diisi sama Shimazaki Nobunaga sih kalo ada adaptasi animenya 😂
Argh. Adaptasinya blm ada pengumuman, apa karena chapternya baru sedikit ya? Udah bayangin Tsudaken ngisi charanya Sakamoto, Shin diisi Romi Park, terus Lu diisi Kugimiya Rie, terus Heisuke sama si Ono Kensho. Tp gatau sih. Moga2 kesampean. Wqwqwq yaudah lanjut baca vol 7 nya aja deh.
First half is solid, with some really nice fights. But that second half? Holy shit.
Basically at this point we have a bunch of criminals going to war with the assassin world. Or least that's what it seems but when we find out who's on top of the food chain for the criminals, it starts to click. The last chapter is brutal, quick, and makes me super hyped to read more.
It’s nice to see the plot developing, which it has been really for the past three volumes, but there’s finally some depth from all the mains, which makes for a more rewarding story overall. And it does this without sacrificing the zany, whacky, bizarre aspects of any of their personalities or traits, which is really well done. I love this series so far!
4.25/5 This series continues to get better and better. This volume continues the serial killer arc from the previous volume while also moving forward the arc with the antagonist X. We also get some interesting background information about the JAA. I really love seeing the creative ways that the different characters use their unique skills to fight. The next volume feels like it will be pitting Sakamoto against the biggest bad guy to date and I'm excited to see how the story plays out.
Boring. A villain who murders for "reasons" gives a long winded reasons monologues. Monologues during what should have been an interesting fight. Nice to see wife kick ass until help arrives. Guess she had learned things from the hubby.
