My granddaughter (7) loves this series. We’re reading it together. “I can’t believe that pets can rule the world,” she said.

2.5 stars. I mean, it’s fine. I just think there are a lot better series out there. All the different pet/character names were hard enough for me to keep straight—I’m not sure little kids would have it any easier. I read this as part of my child’s elementary school book review.

December 22, 2024As an adult, this is my least favorite of the series. I just can't suspend my disbelief. But my daughter loves it, and that's what matters.

Bubbles wants to take over the world. Can Ember stop Bubbles even though he is secretly afraid of water?
Sweet Pea is the new character. She is a frog who wants to be a librarian someday. How fabulous.
