This book seems pretty straight forward. The author smartly uses frozen and precooked items since this is all about weeknight quick meals. I think the foods look a little bland. I will try some but there is a lack of seasoning in the recipes for sure.
I read this book because I heard her interview on Burnt Toast, and I was very curious about the types of meals she included. I think for normal families with kids that are trying to feed their children and get through the day, this book offers some great ideas. I think people with picky boyfriends that only want to both cooking if it is the best meal of their life, this might not be the ticket.
I think this would be a good gift to a new parent because the meals really did seem so simple and approachable
Often recipe books that claim to be for picky kids or families have recipes that no kid would ever eat. This book had many recipes my kids wanted to try. There were creative hacks and techniques. We made the pizza bread rolls and the giant sheet pan pancake. Looking forward to trying more recipes!
What a fantastic cookbook!!! I loved this lady from the start, when I found her on Instagram. Her recipes are simple, nutritious and tasty for EVERYONE. This book has kickstarted me eating like a human again, instead of a trash panda. Thank you!!
She makes some very points at the beginning of the book, which are things I forget I can do. Some good looking recipes here. I like the sausage and egg breakfast burrito. I should do that more often.
I grabbed this off the new reads shelf at my local library, and it was only when I got home that I saw the "Yummy Toddler Food" part of the title. At first I though to maybe just put it aside to return, as I have zero children, but decided to give it a chance. And I am happy I did, because honestly I ended up coming away a good number of both specific and general ideas to try out for future weeknight dinners.
Love this book! I borrowed it from local library, and now I have to buy one because it can save so much effort. This book makes preparing dishes and cooking a good habit for me. And I spend less time since then. Besides the recipes are so good and simple. If you are not sure what to cook for your kids, try this book out.
One of my favorite food bloggers! Tons of recipes and ideas in this book. To be honest there are not a ton that I’ll be able to try for my kids but definitely some good ideas! I’ve had so much success with her snack and breakfast recipes (especially the waffles!) …maybe that book will be next?!
