The cataclysmic events in Stilten changed everything for both Watchlight and Evenir.

Janis has been Transformed. Now she faces a problem even larger than who will replace Magness as Evenir's leader; whatever happened to Prost in Stilten has engulfed Lindrad in something foreboding. She fears the anti-god may have succeeded in his plan to break free.

Marric has been enlightened. With revelations of his past and knowledge gained from his deceased mother, he grapples with the reality that he is wrapped up in the fate of Lindrad.

Prost has been possessed. Riln's death brought more than just the dark satisfaction of domination. Now his mind struggles to keep control as Ugglyn invades his very being. While Ugglyn's residence in his mind grants him powers greater than he can imagine, it comes at a terrible price.

As a final confrontation grows imminent and they struggle desperately to understand the pact that binds Ugglyn, each must decide what they're willing to sacrifice,, or the anti-god will reign free and Lindrad will be lost to the Void.

The final installment of The Lightbearer Chronicles is an epic, twist-filled fantasy adventure that will show you that people can change, both heroes and villains.

I am going to keep the beginning of this review spoiler free, and as such I will not be delving too much into the story, but rather the writing, world build and my general feelings towards the book. I will be commenting on some things at the end.

After reading the first book of the series, Awaken, I have been impressed with the world-building and the magic system that Dan created for this series. However, the more I read the series, especially Ascended, the more evident it became that he had put a lot of effort into the planning of this world. There are so many details that were brought into place with the last instalment in this series such as some of the details of the special characters, and more on the three moons and the deities of the world.

I felt like this book was a lot faster of a pace compared to the other two. There were many moments when I could not put it down and everything else had to be put on hold. This was especially true of the last 40 percent of the book. I was enthralled and had to see how things would pan out.
While there were some parts that I predicted happening in the storyline, there was a lot of things that took me completely by surprise. My jaw actually dropped at one point; there were a lot of exclamations while I read it and it even made me cry. I haven’t felt so invested in a series in a while.

If you’re like me and you HATE how authors are always killing off main characters just to magically bring them back somehow, rest assured that Dan will not be doing that to you. This man apparently has no problems killing off major characters and leaving them dead. (Maybe a bit dramatic of me, but I am fed up with not being able to be sad over a character’s death.) It is the culmination of a war between the two sides of light bearing, and in war, people are lost, and I appreciate that all the death was not just side characters that you can barely remember the name of.
This series was very well written. It’s non-spicy and clean; any language in the book is made up based on their world and religious system, so it's very appropriate for teens and young adults. I didn’t find myself thinking things didn’t make sense or felt out of place from the previous books. I didn’t have any complaints about the storyline as I read it, which is rare for me.

All that to say, this is one of my new favourite series and I will be recommending this to people.

Dan Kenner did not disappoint in his final installment of the Lightbearer Chronicles. The worldbuilding was wonderful - and I found the origin story of the Lightbearing gift unpredictable. I felt the first book was more Merric central, the second book revolved around Janis and this one really brought the three main POVs together.
I did not foresee how Janis and company solved the problem and how she ascended in order to save the day.
I love the character development of the main characters. Merric in particular. In the beginning Merric is introduced as a thatcher's son, living a simple life and is more of a gentle soul. We see through events that Merric needs to step up and grow. In becoming a young man able and willing to fight, Merric doesn't lose what in essence makes him 'Merric'.
Congratulations to this author finishing his trilogy. I will be looking forward to what is next for Dan Kenner.

I absolutely loved reading this book!!! I love Janis i think she is an amazing lead character. She is a total bad ass. I love how getting her light bearing powers made her more soft but she still has her toughness to her. She constantly battles showing her fierce side but also trying to be more approachable. Her character development is amazing. You really see how much change she has gone through in the series. I love multiple points of view and just the other books you get lots of perspective from other characters. I love how she even finds love with someone completely unexpected. I love how Merrick even experiences a crush on the girl he meets. It's adorable and sweet. This book is filled so much action and world building. I feel bad for Avryn i didnt see that coming. There are a lot of twist and i loved it!!! I would recommend 100%

Wow, long and wild ride.
Janis and Marric have come a long way in their journey to bring peace to the lightbearers. Prost taking on a new role as leader of watchlight. The aintgod cause nothing but trouble. I think there might be another book by the way it ended and if there is I can't wait to read it. The story is really good and your won't regret reading just start with book 1. For this book 3.

Will there be a fourth book? Maybe? I hope so.

This was a fantastic finish to the last two books of the series regardless.

Interesting ending. Although i wouldn’t have written it that way. I would have kept Avryn alive.
