Personal strategy and clear identity are key to successfully presenting yourself as a designer within the fashion industry. Fashion Create, Curate, Innovate is a practical guide to creating a far-reaching portfolio, emphasizing the value of personalized storytelling. Its focus is in helping designers attain visual and conceptual clarity in representing their potential. As part of a personal brand strategy, the portfolio becomes a stronger sales tool. This is why the book also explores research, personal branding, presentation materials on-line and off-line, interview technique and follow up.
The book also includes a section on different fashion professional paths providing invaluable career advice not just for aspiring designers but all those looking to evolve into the fashion industry. Case studies from successful recent graduates working across the world offer further insight on how to make your mark.
I gotta be honest I was attracted to this book because of a local brand I followed on Instagram posted that their brand was on this book and I was intrigued because I haven't seen any fashion book would display Indonesian brand in them.
As a fashion design teacher in a fashion school here in Indonesia, I feel like this book contents would help many fashion school students. I see that the way it was written would make it easier to digest the content while keeping it fun. The added examples and the interviews with fashion industry at the back would help the students to see how it was for them to build their careers and brands.
I would love to see this book enjoyed by my students, or fashion school students in general
