His Rejection

Rate this book
I'm not a hero. I'll never be that guy. No matter how much she makes me wish I could... My life isn't truly mine . Working for the mafia means my loyalty is to the family. Love and marriage aren't for me. I can't be what Serafina needs. What she deserves. But that doesn't stop me from wanting her. From taking her. From possessing her. She's the only comfort I've known for years. My light in the dark. And it doesn't matter. Because keeping her would mean rejecting everything else. I can't do that. So, I'll rescue her from the walking dead man who thought he could take her from me. But there's nothing I can do to protect her from the monster that's about to destroy her. Me ...

Hi! My name is Angel Rayne and I write dark, delicious romance with antiheroes who would burn down the world to save the woman they love. I never understood why the villains never win the girl, and so I decided to write them their own love stories where they do.
Here are a few other odds and ends about me…
-Music inspires my stories and I make playlists for every book.
-I am not a fast writer. My stories take time to write. They need to brew in my head. To have book releases close together I have to write ahead. But I would much rather take the time the stories need to be the best they can be than try to rush them out. Trust me on this one.
-I love the rain, and I'm happiest when I'm sitting in a coffee shop with my laptop as it storms outside.
-I prefer to go watch movies alone, with one of those fancy coffees hidden in my purse. (Yes, I really do this.)
-My husband calls me his "little bird" because anything that sparkles catches my eye.
-I will never have enough soft blankets. Ever.
-I love ALL THE DRAMA…at least in books.
-I will forever re-watch The Phantom of the Opera with the hope that by some miracle, this time she will choose correctly.

Thank you for reading my stories, and I always love to hear from you! You can reach me at: angel@angelrayne.com

Part 2

Unbelievable!!! After the cliffhanger of the previous part, I was anxious to read the next.
But Enzo was cruel, with undoubtedly no redeeming qualities.

He had just saved Sera after she had been trafficked for a whole week and the same night he brought her back home, he wanted to fuck her!!!!

No, thank you very much.
He’s all yours!

This is the second book in the trilogy and the author does not disappoint! She once again brings a dark romance with strong characters in Enzo and Sera and takes you on an emotional journey filled with twists and turns, drama and heartbreak. You can feel the tension and emotions coming through the pages. I was glued to the story and am looking forward to the next book.

READ TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE READING PLS

That ending was so unexpected I so shocked right now. This one was a little bit harder to read just because of what my girl Sera went through. Even with everything that happened to her growing up and what happened now she still managed to be really strong. I admire her a lot for that.

Now I love Enzo I really do but in this book there was a couple of times I wanted to fight him. Just the way he acted towards Sera bothered me a little bit. But i do think that he acts the way he does because he doesn't want her or him to get too close to one another. He is still dealing with his past and he blames himself for it so in a way he feels like he's protecting Sera by pushing her away.

I do hope they finally get their happy ending in the next book. They are two people that just deserve to be happy for once and they can find the love they need and want in each other.

What the What!?! 🤯

His Rejection picks up the story of Enzo and Sera where book one left off. The first quarter of the book is difficult to read so check for triggers. The action, steam, and betrayal are continued, it is an Angel book after all. It was great to see Enzo open up with Sera and talk about his past. Him also lending her his strength so she can find her way back. As a huge Enzo lover the last section of the book was brutal. The book ends on a major cliffhanger that blew my mind and stole my breath. After everything these 2 have been through I really hope in the final book of the trilogy, His Proposal, they get their HEA

Nothing and I mean NOTHING could've prepared me for the second part to Enzos and Seras story. It was brutal to read and had me going through so many emotions, I was getting whiplash! I did not like Enzo at certain times because good lord dude, calm down and get your crap straight lmao. That freaking cliffhanger though, ugh I NEED book 3 like NOW lol

Yes, yes, yes Ms Rayne. I'm hooked yet again. You write so brilliantly.. you make me CARE (other authors take note) and once the reader cares well then..........

You need to have read the first book His Promise because so much hinges on the past in this, but hell Enzo how come I'm a bit in love with you(?) and Serafina didn't let me down in the last book and nor does she in this one.

The passion these 2 have is off the charts but the cliffhanger my lord! Didn't see it coming. How do I wait until the end of January? Brutal!

Just brilliant writing. Just character development. Just blushingly brilliant steam. Just the wonderful Ms Rayne. Just bliss!

How do I wait? Read this trilogy, read this author. End of.

His Rejection is the second installment in an intense and gritty dark mafia romance trilogy. The first book was phenomenal but sadly the sequel fell short and left me incredibly frustrated. Enzo’s thoughts and behavior made me hate him. I’m a firm believer that anti-heroes and morally grey villains must have redeeming qualities but readers won’t find any with Enzo.

Sera is trafficked and endures seven torturous days in hell before Enzo rescues her. She’s broken and simply a shell of her former self. These scenes were heartbreaking and gut-wrenching to read. Enzo was gentle but I really disliked that he was pushing for physical intimacy so quickly after her rescue. Sera had just been prostituted and he wanted to make it all go away by making her feel good? No thanks.

Enzo is loyal to the mafia above all else. Sera knows men in the mafia will never choose their woman over an order. Enzo is simply full of false promises and Sera runs. Enzo catches her in the woods and r@pes her while forcing his men to watch. Again, it had only just been mere days that Sera was repeatedly r@ped and assaulted by strange disgusting men. I understand that he needed to appear ruthless in front of his men but seriously? He is no better than the men who trafficked her. The worst part about all of it is Sera thanked him for being gentle and cleaning her wounds sustained from his actions. Say what?

The biggest blow came when Enzo betrayed Sera by allowing her father to take her back. In his mind, she’s better off alive and held captive by her father than a ticking time bomb as his wife. I think the author wanted readers to believe Enzo was making a great sacrifice to let Sera go and not keeping her for himself, but it just didn’t come across in that way. It just made me hate him even more.

The ending was left on another major cliffhanger. Will I read book 3? Yes. I want to know what happens — but no amount of groveling will redeem Enzo. I want Sera to find a way out and leave Enzo in the dust. He doesn’t deserve her.

Tropes: Dark romance, contemporary romance, mafia romance
Heat: 4/5
TW: PLEASE check trigger warnings as there are many scenes that will be upsetting to some readers.

This is the part of the His Possession Trilogy series once you start you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned so, buckle up this is a wild ride, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, so gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love (ALL THINGS TO EXPECT FROM THE MAFIA WORLD). By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! CAN’T SAY YOU WEREN’T WARNED!!!!! Enzo sexy as all get out villain for the most part with typical villain behavior in other words it is hard for him to understand compassion but for his girl he will try, she is the light that guides him out of the darkness and when she is taken he will burn the world down to find her. Sera sweet taken right off the streets thrown into a world she isn’t used to being trafficked forced to do things she never thought would happen with each bad act she buried deeper into herself until the person she was is no longer in existence and, but the time Enzo finds her seven days later her light has nearly been extinguished. Enzo loves her treats her gently but forces her to do things that the traffickers just gentle and he is trying to get her past it but pushes my buttons when he rapes her in the woods while his men watched because she ran afraid, and he just pushed her further into herself especially after what happened to her will he realize how much more damaged he caused trying to prove he is a ruthless man in front of his men, will she ever be okay with him after what he did, is there forgiveness for both of them and where are they headed waiting for the next book ☹ uggggg I hate waiting!.

***First let me say this book should come with some trigger warnings. This book has sex slavery and rape so if that is a trigger for you I suggest you not read this book!!!***

2.5-3/⭐️
2/5🌶

I was obsessed with the 1st book, but this one not so much. I really wasn’t a fan of Enzo in this book. He started out as the same Enzo from the previous book, but the the more I read the bigger of an asshole he became. My biggest disgust of Enzo came from the seen in front of his guards when Sera tried to leave(read to find out for yourself what I’m referring to). He is overly obsessed with Sera and I do believe he loves Sera I’m his own way, he just has a worrisome way of showing it.

I LOVED Sera in this book. She goes through such tragedy, it almost breaks her, but she doesn’t let it destroy her soul. Although she loves Enzo, she knows this is not the life she wants to live unless he is all in with her. She continues to try and find a way to escape the mafia life. In a last effort to avoid being sent back home based on blind trust she agrees to a sit down with her father. She thought the meeting would work in her favor but it ends in MAJOR heartbreak.

This book ends in a cliffhanger and the cliffhanger is the main reason why I want to see what happens in the end. How will things end for Sera and Enzo?.

This is the second book in the series. They must be read in order. This book picks up right where the first one left one. Enzo is losing his mind with Sera gone. He needs to get her back and he will do anything to make that happen. Sera should have listened to Enzo. Now she has no idea who has her or why. She knows that Enzo will try to find her but she doesn’t know how long she can last. Things won’t be easy even after Enzo finds Sera. There is still the fact that they have to tell her father they know where she is. Also, the she is no longer a virgin. Sera will do anything not to have to go back to her father. Who knows what he will do to her once he finds out that she isn’t a virgin anymore. Sera can’t seem to catch a break. Enzo is fighting how Sera makes him feel. The very thing that could save Sera is the last thing Enzo will do. He also doesn’t want to let her go. She doesn’t necessary want to leave Enzo but she does want to have a say in her life. I want these two to end up together so bad. I don’t always like the things Enzo does or how he treats Sera. These characters are great. I can’t wait to read the next and final book in this series. This book ends on a cliff hanger as well.

This story continues on from the first book, His Promise, so was looking forward to this book. It didn’t disappoint at all, in fact, it stepped up to the plate and hit a home run.

My heart went out to both Enzo and Sera, their world had been turned upside down. They certainly had a tumultuous time of it but then I was ready to clout Enzo for his actions, and not just once either. I liked both Sera and Enzo a lot and understood Enzo’s reasoning for not wanting to marry again but sheesh, he was a stubborn man.

Talk about go through the full range of emotions in this story, from anger to irritation, joy to relief, anxiety to flat out scared and everything in between. This dark romance has everything you’d expect: drama, questionable characters as well as plain evil ones, heartbreak, violence and aggression and great twists and turns.

I can’t wait to read what happens in the third book, His Proposal.

Here is part 2 to Enzo and Sera’s story and picks up right where ‘His Promise’ left us hanging.

An amazing addition to the trilogy. It really does have everything you could possibly want…….suspense, obsession, tragedy, drama and plenty of RED HOT steam which brings out all types of emotions as you read. It’s deliciously dark and dangerous, the writing is fantastic and keeps you gripped throughout.

This does end on yet another nail biting cliffhanger, this is part 2 of a trilogy after all so was to be expected. I await the final instalment to Enzo and Sera’s story with baited breath.

I absolutely love this author’s ability to immerse the reader into the story to the point you forget your reading. You’re just there, a part of the world she has created, watching it all play out. A fabulous read that I highly recommend if you enjoy very dark and twisted Mafia romance which I award a definite 5 stars.

Heart-pounding shock and awe

This book has me shaking , crying , and my heart is pounding. I’m not even exaggerating. I read a lot of mafia but this one has thrown me for a loop. I was so angry at Enzo in this part of the series for all the many bad things he did. I was sad for Sera for how she was treated and what she endured . I wanted to throw my phone against a wall and message the author because it made me feel that much! That’s why even though I didn’t like the things Enzo did this book still deserved 5 stars. I don’t know that I’ve ever felt this strongly before from a book and that’s a compliment to this author. Be on the look out Angel Rayne because I’m sending you my therapy bills! If you don’t have triggers and want angst and shock then run to buy this book asap! Triggers are huge! Watch them if you have them because this is not an easy read!

The first part of the book was sickening for me. Repeated and brutally r@p3 although wasn't explicitly detailed, it was there. My heart was long way from broken for Sera. I cried full of anger for her.
And when she slowly get out of her victim skin and become survivor with Enzo help, it makes the 50% to the end of the book, bitter and heart broken.

Enxo was being an idiot, to put it nice. Not just he kick her for his own stupido reason, but he also put his family, luca-Veda-Tristan, in danger of war with his action.

Seriously i was fall out of my seat by his stupido, i cant see the author point of view with this!

3.5 ⭐.

Wow, OMG! The trigger warnings in this book felt real with the description and the characters that played the part it was epic. Serafina won't listen to anyone when her safety is a concern until the day something terrible happens to her. Enzo wants her but his life is complicated when you work for the Mafia family. The chemistry is really hot and when things go a bit to far Enzo tries to stay away from her, causing her grief and unwanted. This story was definitely a page turner and one that I didn't want to end.

This story picks up wher it left off with Serifina being kidnapped and going into the sex trafficking ring Enzo has vowed to keep her safe and will to the ends of the earth to protect her. Or will he? When her father finds out where she is will Enzo make the ultimate sacrifice and form an alliance with her mafia boos father? I love the dynamics of this couple she doesn’t want a mafia man as her husband she’s had a lifetime under her fathers thumb, that’s why she origin ran away. She feels protected and safe with Enzo, but is that enough to save her from the biggest threat, her father?.

The author angel Rayne did mention triggers for book two. I kinda shy away from books when the author has this warning but cause I have read her other books I went in thinking of it’s too much I skip a page. But I read each page and felt it was well written and that part of the story had to happen to the Character for the story to be told. But wow Enzo you love him then you hate him, so many emotions but at the end of the day he has his reasons. I was left speechless and excited the final book to come. I’m on-the edges do the seat every book and I have to finish it once I start that’s it, I find ish till the end. I love how we see the other characters in the book.

Just Wow!!! The second book of Enzo and Sera has me biting my nails... I expect nothing less from Angel Rayne with that cliffhanger. Definitely some triggering chapters but this book is amazing. I literally was hanging on the edge with where this book was leading. Lots and lots of angst filled moments, you can't help but feel bad for all involved. This book is dark romance at it's finest. Totally obsessed with Enzo. Definitely more than a 5 star must read.

This is the second part of the His Possession Trilogy and the story of Sara and Enzo and their story is also full of emotions, twists you didn't always see coming, tension and action. This is also a story that contains triggers and a bit of dark and dark. If you are sensitive to certain triggers then this is not a book for you and otherwise definitely read it. I'm curious about the next part, Angel Rayne can write great stories with a touch of darkness.

When I found Ms. Rayne, I knew I'd be a lifer!

Her mafia romances press every one of my buttons.

Why I enjoy dark, I don't know except, perhaps for the very high emotional toll! It makes it worth your while as you feel! Really FEEL!

This second in the trilogy had me on edge. So Intense!

Enzo...man, I need to get you on my book boyfriend list! Come on!

Sera, OMG, my arms wrap around you for much needed hugs. Well, for my benefit!

Cannot wait for the finale! I know it'll be a doozy!

His Rejection by Angela Rayne is book Two in His Possession Trilogy. This continues the story of Serafina 'Sera' and Enzo. So, you will need to read the previous book "His Promise" before starting this one. This also will end with a cliffhanger setting us up for the next installment in their story. This book for me had me not like Enzo as much as the last one but Sera brought up her game. Sera had a lot to go through and she is showing a strong side I felt. I can't wait for the next installment.

Wow, Wow! I'm biting my nails over the cliffhanger in the second Enzo and Sera book, which I expected nothing less from Angel Rayne. There are definitely some emotionally charged chapters, but this book is amazing. Because of where this book was taking me, I was literally on the edge. You can't help but feel bad for everyone involved when there are a lot of angst-filled moments. Dark romance at its best can be found in this book. My heart is being taken out by Enzo. gah!.

Perfectly titled heartbreaker 💔

This book was quite aptly titled- it will rip your heart out and stomp it to pieces before putting it back together. And then repeating the cycle over and over again until the cliffhanger ending!! I did not think I could love a couple more than Luca and Veda but these two are definitely in competition! This book does have some major triggers- so definitely not for more sensitive readers- but if you are with this trilogy then it’s a must read! Now on to book 3!!

She's kidnapped by a guy who wouldn't take no for an answer and sold to a human trafficking ring. She's graped and drugged off and on for a week before hero saves her. There is no discussion about what she went through and how she processed it all and it seems like in no time at all they are in bed again. It just seemed off to me. No mention at all about what happened to her and then bam, back in bed with the hero like nothing happened. Only that he promised her he would kill all of the men who touched her and she said okay.

Enzo and Sera's story is not always an easy read (Trust me, triggers abound here) and it is certainly going to give your heart and mind an intense workout. This story is filled with plenty of darkness, drama, emotion, tension, twists and heartache. My heart just broke for Sera, and I know Enzo was no hero, but I really, REALLY wish I could have liked him more. Sadly, I did not. I am independently posting an impartial review.

When you are a part of the mafia you get used to life a certain way. Some want to run from it and some are too stuck in it to want to leave. Throw in a love story between one that wants to leave and one so involved they can't leave. What happens? Will it work out? What is the right decision when it comes to living life or starting a mob war? What happens when the only way out is marriage and it's the one thing you never want to do again, even if you truly do care for the person?

I definitely didn’t not see this development coming at the end of the first book and I have mixed feelings. I felt bad for Sera and a I little bit hate Enzo for what he did to her knowing well what she had to go through and when he let her go back to her father (but for that we all see that coming from the book title). What a plot twist at the end, don’t disappoint me, Enzo pls.
