While I did learn some things from this book, I would say its best audience would be preteens looking to learn a little about witchcraft without being too overwhelmed by information.
This was great for me (as a beginner into wicca, witchcraft and paganism). I read 1 book previously which very briefly in a chapter mentioned different witches, and had mentioned green witchcraft, so when i saw a book dedicated to this i had to pick it up and delve into more research
Firstly, the cover is beautiful, with a beautiful nature green and the iconic wiccan pentagram, i was drawn to the calming vibes the cover gave off.
Now for the actual book, the pictures were stunning, each page had a stunning nature image that would match the topics. I also really appreciated the plants and how to identify them (and learning what plant was toxic, and what magical properties they are used for in spells) that was a lovely touch. I was expecting the book to be like "ooop that plant is toxic/ dangerous, stay away" and go on to not explain what the plant is used for, but even though i wont ever be going near these plants im very grateful i got to learn about their uses in witchcraft.
I just wish the book was longer, the first half was great, but i felt the second half dragged on abit talking about protests (which im all for!) But those pages could have been shorter, and the rest filled with more knowledge on green witches. But i appreciated the book regardless.
Being more of the practical green witch practices, this book was too heavily steeped in fae and lore for me. I gave up halfway through. For those more mystically inclined, it might be an interesting read.
It’s alright ig. Very quick read which I love and taught me a bit. Some good spells in there too. Although I feel like it’s a bit Wiccan which is annoying. It’s hard to find books about witchcraft that don’t include Wiccan themes.
I really enjoyed this read. It was a fantastic step into green whichcraft and an easy read. I'm very glad to have read it and will use it a lot. I recommend this to everyone.
So much history. Many examples for any kinda or practice. Visuals and recipes. Informative ingredients. Do's and Dont's I honestly don't thing she missed a single part of this book!
