Everyone wants to belong. Tribeca does, too.

But with only three legs and three paws, Tribeca knows she’s different from other cats. And when she learns that she’s going to be adopted, she starts to worry that she won’t fit in with her new family.

When the day arrives, Tribeca relaxes after meeting her new dad — but she learns that she also has a new sister. Will her sister accept her?

Tribeca is a very special cat. She is a foster cat. She loves her foster home, but worries the day will come when she will have to leave. When she learns that her forever home is ready, she worries that she will not fit in. Children who share these feelings of not fitting in will easily relate to Tribeca and her worries. This is a great book to share with children and talk about foster care, foster pets, special needs and feelings. The facial expressions throughout this book will help children understand different feelings. The book is full of Word Play which added a fun element to the story. I highly recommend this book to parents and teachers. I think you will find it Purrfectly Delightful!

Tribeca, or Becky-Boo, is a foster cat that is different. She is not like the other cats in the neighborhood. Her foster mother has found her a forever home. Tribeca worries about what the forever home will be like, but when they arrive she finds a BIG surprise.

This is such a heartfelt story that will resonate with children who have been in foster care, families who are considering fostering an animal, especially one with special needs. It will allow for children to understand their feelings and know those feelings are not uncommon but very normal.

The illustrations are a beautiful addition to the story-telling. I enjoyed the color mix with black-n-white drawings.

Tribeca (the foster cat) is a picture book about belonging in a world when you feel different from the “norm”. What makes this book so appealing is the play on cat words. As a dog lover, I enjoyed the inclusion of a dog and the bond made between the two animals. The illustrations are purrfect. The black and white drawings are intelligently placed.
