Introduces animals that pose a threat to humans and other creatures, including fierce predators of land and sea, venomous animals, those that carry disease, and the danger of extinction.
Happy December everyone, I really enjoyed this book, no wonder rats are always the one creating diseases, as in the disease of Covid 19. You learn that in this book. I have a lot of these books. I'm sooooooooooooo excited for Christmas though, and I lllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeee that there is wolves in this book because their my favorite animal. Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year.
I was not pleased with the “non-hunting” bias in the “Animals in Danger” section on page 28. I don’t think this book should be taken for fact. If you read it you will see the author conveniently left out the purpose of food, as a reason for people hunting. Not just for fur, skins, and horns. People for thousands of years have hunted like many of the other animals in this book for the sole purpose of survival. Please be honest with your kids and teach them how we get our food.
These are in the preschool at church and are not really for the preschool age group. They are books of facts, not stories, and the endings are rather abrupt. The facts are solid, but could have been better presented. Too long for 3 year olds.
We loved the photos and illustrations that brought this approachable book to life. My six year old didn’t want to put it down, but I found it manageable to read over a few days thanks to the sections. 🤩
The author doesn't well differentiate between poisonous and venomous, which I think should be clear-cut, especially for people first learning about them.
