This was a great mystery novel! The story kept me on my toes and I loved the way it progressed as our FMC, Downey, investigated. Each new suspect gave us a new glimpse into the life of our victim. Who would have thought that getting stuck covering a story as dull as a post office robbery would lead us on such a thrilling adventure. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star read for me is how descriptive every little thing is. I know that most people say books don't tell us enough, but this book had so many seemingly pointless descriptions of things that it often pulled me out of the story.

This book pulled me right in as if I was part of the chase or watching it happen as a young reporter engulfs her life into a case she becomes part of. From the mystery of murders to the thrills of finding the killer all while unfolding a blooming romance. This book kept me on my toes the whole time and threw me in a loop where I could not predict the end. Very much an easy read that pulls you into the life of a journalist and an investigator. The anticipation and building of the suspense on catching the killer was planned thoroughly and was carefully executed with the environment and locations. This author kept with a good lead and path that did not make you confused and stressed at all. Definitely cannot wait for what the author has in store for the future!

Wow is all I can stay, I was recommended this book to try a new author and I'm willing to try anything.

It is hard for me to rate a book 4/5 stars unless I am very impressed, I will say this story impressed me all the way through!

Downey a detective gets put on a boring assignment as a journalist just to follow the chain of events that unfold through out the book. I can 100% say every single page I read I wanted/ NEEDED to know what happened next.

As a newer Indy author I give Kyle A. Johnson a lot of credit pulling off a mystery novel with a twist I didn't see coming, it is hard to master the art of a chain of events and then pull of a twist that has you thinking WOW why did I not see that (and as an avid mystery/ thriller reader, I can normally pin point or at least have the suspect in my list)!

In my opinion the story & writing style its self is 5 stars, there were some parts that were overly descriptive & it tended to take away from the actual mystery- other than that bravo what a great recommendation to my.

I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU TRY THIS OUT!
